Turbo upgrade..Ecu upgrade

I will just continue here, so i not need to make new thread...
so i want to ask your opinion...
i always use shell helix ultra 5w40 on my myvi
after bolt-on turbo, do i have to change to different number or just continue the same
i mean now 5w40
after BOT,10w40..or is it ok just stay same number 5w40
so wait for you reply thanks..

stick to 5w40. shell helix ultra is a good engine oil.

Tumpang topic. Since its about turbo. Im very curious to find out and know more about upgrading turbo. Not planning to do it anytime soon, but just want to gain more info and knowledge. My car is a 408 Turbo and i think currently my stock turbo is a K03. I've been reading about K04 and some even say K03S. Firstly, is all the turbo with a "K" code, is from Borg Warner (a.k.a KKK)?? Second, what are the hardwares that i might need to change if im going to a bigger turbo and is there such thing as a direct plug and play upgrade?? Third, any other turbo brand that is same as a K03 or K04??

Basically, once you meddle with anything, many are connected. For example you want a larger turbine, you will need to retune. You need more fuel, probably maybe you need larger injectors then maybe a piggyback to supply more fuel and the list goes on.....

Ahhhh I see....Coz i thought if is from the same manufacturer and the turbo is not so much bigger...Can be just a direct replacement....

Any recommended shop to go to for turbos??

Even same make, a bigger turbo is a bigger turbo therefore the displacement is different. Why not use same turbo but boost up. There are many things and many way to up your power.
But normally we play JDM not contis.....:biggrin:
 
if swapping turbo of same make u still need to adjust turbo adaptor to exhaust manifold,downpine,intake fitting,intercooler fitting ,oil line and coolant line to suits......

then need to retune...
 
I see....Ok ok....Will research more on this.....Maybe like bro vr2turbo said....Just increase boost....

Any recommended shop that specializes in turbo??
