Are KL drivers in general becoming more Rude?

Ah.. local resident. That would explain a lot of your earlier posts. I suspected you were Indonesian but could never confirm it. Heh. Not that it matters though. You Jakarta-ians have balls of steel. When I was there for business sitting in the cab was one scary ass event.

....

Hehehe, yeah I guess most foreigners would feel the same when visiting Jkt. And it gets worse every time too! We just get used to it. But that's why when I'm back there, also very lazy to go out anywhere cuz will be wasting so much time & energy just to drive anywhere.

Bangkok has one thing we all don't. Patient people. I think generally Thais are very patient people and their culture dictates that. Life is kinda laid back there even though their capital is so busy. They have a lot of cars there and I'm surprised the cost of petrol didn't lesson the number of cars there. Jams in Bangkok are ridiculous, every tom, dick and harry in a uniform (pak guard inclusive) is a traffic controller and they just compound the massive carparks they have all over the city. I once experienced a 2 hr jam just go from one street to another that was about 2 km away. Bloody hell.

I think the Japs are even more patient. When on trip there, even though jam, no honing, no queue cutting. you signal and they let you in. Really a relax place....:driver:

Public transportation not up to mark?

...Public transportation not up to mark?

Public transport there is just pathetic except the taxi. FYI we have no LRT or any proper railway transport yet! Imagine a city with almost 15 mill people working there during the day but has no LRT! Jakarta is probably the most populated city in the world that still lacks railway transport. The busses are also very crappy, worse than the KL Metro busses, many do not even have aircon! Imagine cramming inside those busses & stuck in traffic jams, you might faint! Not to mention the safety which is almost non existent. Other forms of public transport are microbusses (also w/o aircon) and bajaj/tuk2, plus motorcycle jokies (we called them "ojek").

The only good public transport is taxi, now that one is way2 better than KL taxis! I can get a 1 hour taxi ride from the airport to my house in a Mercedes C-Class for just around rm50! Minimum the taxi are all Vios, and they never reject. But if you use taxi everyday and get stuck in jams for hours, it will also cost a lot.

That's why cars & bikes are everywhere, jamming the roads all day long 7 days a week, almost no let up! The only time you can enjoy driving there is from 12 midnight up to maybe 5:30am, and during the Raya break, that's it.

Hahaha, someday you should visit and see it yourself. That's why you guys should still appreciate for what Malaysia has achieved so far, may not be very good yet but already pretty decent nonetheless. Here in KL, I with my wife & 2 small boys had managed to make do without private cars for the first 3 yrs, purely just using public transport to go around! In Jkt, I myself would not even last a week!

Here I give you some flavors of Jkt

Yeah we should be. Our country has lots of resources but too much corruptions and miss management, still one of the most corrupt in the world despite already several government changes. In 2012 Corruption index, we're ranked at 118 out of 174 countries while Malaysia is way much better at rank 54.

that not jam edi man....that is gridlock!

Exactly! And it gets worse every year too! The new Jkt governor now is already pushing to get the railway system to start but again still needs several years to complete and can you imagine how much worse it will be during the construction work!?? And judging by the corruptions level still happening, how long would the people suffer before finally it's completed??

You can just google some more images to see more of how we have to survive there day-in and day-out. Can see some pics with flooding too which is like a yearly event!

The problem is we have public transport and it's absolutely rubbish. Jakarta doesn't really have anything and barely any public transport infrastructure. They have nothing to complain about.

If you have something and don't make full use of it, it's crap.
If you have something and mismanage it, it's a waste of resource
If you have nothing, it's just... nothing.

Aiyo we complain also why we don't have it la! All those public fund goes into the corrupt government.
KL LRT is pretty decent already la, just need to keep improving it step-by-step with better services and coverage which is still on-going, right? Same also with the bus system. When I was using the RapidKL bus, I also got complaints which I wrote to them! To my surprise, they did responded to my emails and I can also see improvement bit by bit.
IMHO what KL really needs to fix is the taxi! Make it as good as Jakarta and you're that much better already. Taxi here is the absolute embarrassment for a city of KL stature!

To be frank, after 2 years+ never take train, finally I started taking train again cuz tired of jam, stressed on the road and too many idiots on the road getting on my nerves.

So heck it, save on petrol, parking and energy. Take train.

To my surprise. KTM they changed their train already and I did not know. When I was there,

The train are now better and more on time than before. Delay the most 1 - 3 mins.
Not so cramped because train is longer than before and maximum speed is 120km/h.

So, actually the whole seating arrangement changed to somewhat like Star LRT concept.
Better than last time KTM. Hardly any space to stand or sit. Now not cramp and no aircond
problem.

So far I'm satisfied. From Kita Takkan Maju - Kita Tengah Maju. Hope one day
KTM = Kita Telah Maju

Yes, exactly! I also did take the KTM last month and very pleasantly surprised of how much improved it already is since 2yrs ago! The train was so much better and the waiting time is much reduced. I saw the LRT also keep getting better with newer and longer trains. I can see RapidKL buses also got rejuvenated with new buses. All in all I'd say good progress.

Yup, that's something good. But now monorail is the one with frequent breakdowns lately.
They need to change their monorail train I guess..and also make it longer so that it wont be that
cramp.

Now I didnt know monorail don't accept TnG, instead they have this RapidKL Card instead..
I was like wth make so many cards when we have TnG like before...just one card is more
than enough to top up.

Oh really? I have not taken the monorail for >2yrs now. That's weird if have to use another different card, should just keep using TnG la. Actually KTM also have to start using TnG, so all become more convenient.
