My 1997 Fiat Ulysse Turbo diesel has broken down again & needs an engine & gearbox change. Knowing that the spares, whether new or 'potong kereta' are very hard to find & also very expensive, would you advise to still proceed with the repairs & face probable headaches again in the future or would you recommend an engine change to a more popular Japanese engine like Skyline ?

All opinions are welcome including tips on what other options, where to source & also price indications.

Thanks & regards

this is an headache problem....

u beter send to workshop n ask for advices...

coz they wanna set ur engine bay n ur mounting place....then only can decide wat kind of engine can put in....

and ur car cc as well...hv to match the engine lo...if not..how to pass?

and for flat to japanese car...quite headache for mech...need some times for thjem to do wiring n transplant..

*or u can repair it and sell it....so can get another car

repair the MPV, and sell. get Estima.:D

in my knowledge, Ulysse shares same platform and certain engines with Peugoet 806 and Citroen Synergie (now known as C8). sadly, neither was on sale in our country thus, finding replacement parts are on the difficult side. sorry for you.

there are chop shops in segambut selling fiats haflt cut..try your luck there or you can go to www.italiaauto.com to seek for advice from those fiat owners around..they have good source for used and new fiat parts...
