Links power has just tested on a proton, will need to customise an adapter for Protons. InitialD, are you willing to be their Test Car? ;)

That wasn't my GTi.

Mine is using Mitsubishi ECU ( but not 1999 batch ). I take it that Accord R has spoken to u already then. :)

Satanic,

How is the filter as compared to HKS Super Power Flow with heatshield?

but i think carbon fibre still the best compare heat shield that made with zink ..... still absorb heat :)

just my 2 cents that day i go to Links found out got another CF filter just RM 180 soo cheap

it's different wif the one show here

actually for those of you who are running on normal proton engine shudn't have any problem of installing this product...only those engine which its AF sensor is just after the filter need to do some modification....the best way to verify this is to just drop by to any of our distributors and get a direct measurement yourself....becos not all car are the same...some might be using NS50 battery and some will be using NS60...different size plays an important role on the route of the aluminium intake hose....some also using proton bumpers that came with spotlight...easier cos already got a hole for the mouth of the intake hose to direct thru...and so on and so on....so please drop by either N1 Racing or Links or Amoil to get some verification....

Yes, I was there last Saturday :)

Just to let you guys know what happened that day...

Just as I have expected... the BMC Style CAI system was too long for my GTi. No way to fit it in just like that. There were 3 solutions:

1) Move the fuse box - But move to where??
2) Move the battery - Move to the boot/trunk, but it takes too much time and effort and would be costly as it involves rewiring and customisation.
3) Custom make new shorter air pipe/hose to replace standard GTi air pipe/hose - A shorter L shape aluminium or stainless steel pipe.

So far, option 3 is the most sensible option. If everything is fine, then mass producing it would be easy.

So let's wait for another 2 weeks. Hopefully everything will fit perfectly.

Another BMC CF user. Good choice. pricey but worth the money. Trust me, i know i'm using it :) Can't give comment on Racecraft CF intake version, since didn't install it. But Racecraft CF intake look superb :) seen it, touch it, didn't install though. Installation is a nightmare. i have to custom my piping also to accomodate the AFM. But the result after all the agony, is priceless :)

I have been using BMC CF intake for more than 20000km already. For those who love intake sound, you'll love it. I'm quite suprise when the review for the Racecraft intake the intake sound were slightly muted?

Performance wise, didn't dyno to test the result, acceleration wise just superb, you pull all the way to the redline easily. If you don't plan to change your exhaust to noisy version, this intake will do. Other driver will know you're behind them.

But word of warning, if you read carefully the marking on the BMC CF intake, it is engraved stating that NOT FOR STREET USE, FOR TRACK USE ONLY. but in Malaysia, who cares? Foreign country regulation don't appply to Malaysia :)

halo...i have a Waja 1.6 SOHC 16V (auto) year 2001....would it be suitable for my car? thanks. Also, many tuning shops i went to recommends that i use a drop in replacement type air filter. So instead of the drop in, are they any alternatives? many thanks

hallo..? any reviews for proton 1.5??
alot of us proton users are still waiting for results ler... :(

Still no word on smaller cars like the Kelisa haih...i seriously doubt it can fit.Checked it out at Links Sunway.Technicians still havent called me yet %^&*

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your support in our products. Links Sunway is customising a special adapter to fit the BMC style intake onto Proton engines. We will let you guys know when it's ready.

For the smaller cars or if you can't wait to get your hands on some CF Filters, we do have an alternative, almost the same concept, carbon fiber heatshield built-in filters. http://www.zerotohundred.com/newforums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif Here's a pic of how they look like.

Price is fantastic. Only RM130 for the shorter ones and RM150 for the longer ones.
