For all things MIVEC, visit the MIVEC thread. Lots of info there.

A 1.8 MIVEC hybrid is a good compromise between high-revving power and low-end torque.

There is no replacement for displacement, as they say :)

But installation and fuelling has to be spot-on, and good installers are hard to come by. Think loooonnnggg and hard, I say.

Wah..campro can reach 200bhp ah? then the max of our engine can go is??forget about those car handling, i know is not realistic..but juz wanna go how far can we go. :P

without upgrade the cam shaft..
i wander how is the different between the stage 1 extractor
because
4-2-1 is stage 1 and 4-1 is stage 2
whats the different
and can u feel the different after changing tat..
can anyone tell me plz

It sounded different too after changing the ECU.

I think you got it slightly mixed up :) We don't have a Stage 2 manifold (well not yet anyway...). The 4-1 sytem is a Stage 3, not suitable for use with standard or Stage 2 cams, you'll actually loose power!

I believe one of our fellow motorheads is using the Stage 3 system and he is getting good power up top...perhaps he can comment on the gains ;)

Huh? Stage 3 system??
I thought the only stage 3 mod around is the 4 -1 extractor... Didn't know there were more.

HKS once built a Formula 3 spec 4G93 engine . it had circa 250bhp. N/A. But the price is killa..

can anyone tell me about the manifold damn confuse..
izzit the stage 3 manifold must have R3 stage2 cam shaft to run if not the power will lost if stick with stock stage 1

Ok here's the low down...

Currently R3 has two manifold systems, Stage 1 and Stage 3.
The Stage 1 manifold works fine when mated with the Stage 2 cams. For Stage 3 Manifold on the other hand is strictly for engines with 270 duration or more cams with matching ported head. Using the Stage 3 manifold with cams with durations lower than this will cause your car to loose power. FYI Stage 2 cams have duration lower than 270.
