err pardon my ignorance....proton has never really caught my attention all this while...but what is the current price of the GTi now?

btw, i think the proton R3 GTi rocks! :D

LanEvoX..

Don't confuse the Satria SSO with the Satria R3. The Satria SSO is a competition vehicle built from a previous Satria GTi's base. The Satria R3 is a production model. The Satria SSO also have RM 10k Alcon brakes and RM 23k close ratio straight cut gearbox, but the Satria R3 does not have them. All I ever previously said was that the Satria SSO inspired the Satria R3.

Why not Putra and Wira? Proton hasn't made the Putra for a long time now, and neither does anybody want one. As for the Wira, it's already a very old model. The Satria R3 had a good base to start from (Satria GTI) which is why it was developed. It's time to look at Proton's new models and future, not it's past...

adian, thanks for correct the confuse :)

and as i read from other thread, proton edar going to sell a putra limited edition wor....why not putra R3? :o

good to know that adian, no doubt that with you on board proton & R3 can only become better. cheers to you adian! your dedication and effort will not go unnoticed! :)

DEATH TO RED TAPE & POLITIKS!! ha ha.

anyways will stage 2/3 mods work with normal GTis? how different is the R3's siemens ECU compared to the normal GTi's?

1) Why no Putra R3? I say, I can't answer all questions on the Net in public worr!!
2) ABS? Real drivers don't use ABS!
3) Stage 2/3: Yes, they will work on Wira/Satria/Putra models as well as the Siemens model cars. There will be a range of products to choose from that will cater to all.

BTW LanEvoX, I really like that shot of the "R3" logo on the side of the car!

Hi adian,

Will the parts be available for seperate purchase later from proton?? parts like the extractor n xhaust system, springs n dampers, arbs??

thanks

Can somebody tell me what is the issue regarding a SIEMENS ECU and a MITSU ECU?

What is the fuss all about? sorry i really dont know....please share....

Adian,

Sweetttt..! Sounds pretty convincing.. I'm glad that your team has actually thought about strengthening the chassis and emphasizing on vehicle dynamic performance rather than outright straight line performance. Bravo for u. This alone can justify my choice of purchasing a FWD local produced vehicle. Might be dropping off my deposit for the car real soon. So how many ppl this R3 team consist of? A new division of proton? Any job opening atm?? I'm a mech. eng btw and got into a less preferred line due to certain concerns and might b thinking of changing :D

well,

adian u cant blame me for being paraniod.....meet with an accident once due to the locking of the brakes.....the road was abit slipery...the car infront suddenly stoped ( i was only doing 65km at that time), a motorcyclist fell right in front of him, and he was able to stop immediately due to ABS

sigh.....

Looks like u need to practice on ur threshold braking.. :P But hard to say, when ur so used to driving with ABS.. all u think about during an emergency is to stand on the brakes.. Bad habit to develope for track junkies.. remove ur ABS fuse!!!
