Questions on upgrading power

1) twin carb is something like 4-throttle for fuel injection engine... this is twin weber dcoe...

4) depends on the camshaft profile... the wilder the cams, the higher the fc... most highcam aim at increasing horsepower at mid-high rpm... hence, u will lose bit of low end torque...
and of coz u've heard of more power means more fc...

3) port polish means making the cylinder head intake and exhaust port bigger and smoother...

oem vs pnp head

5) LSD stands for limited slip differential... for example doing a U-turn... ur inner wheel travels less compare to outer wheel... in normal road cars we have open differential which allows left and right wheels to travel different speed... LSD limits the difference... hence, power can be transfered to both wheels more evenly... google up for more info, i cant explain everything here...

6) not necessary... skimming the head too much will cause high compression... when a high compression engine is not well tuned, it can cause overheating and serious detonation.. this is where the damage comes in...

7) high flow not necessary GG the fc... fc depends on ur carburetor tuning and as well as ur right foot...

the ticking sound is knocking or pinging sound... symptom of pre-ignition or in other words called detonation... vr normal for 4g1x engine, especially carburetor ones... to eliminate or reduce it, use fresh sparkplugs, retune ur ignition timing and retune ur carburetor....

4-2-1 should be ideal for street use... 1.7" piping ok adi....

Saves me all the explanation haha! Thanks bro :itsme:

hi all bro here. i planning to buy a cam pulley and crank pulley and install it into my gen2 1.3 auto. will this 2 things works ? any disadvantages of using them ?

Your car will just feel easier to rev, thats tops.

Pros? Feels lighter, less rotating mass, the cam pulleys will look sexy with a clear cover also

Cons, well the price to power ratio... its a whole lot of money for not a lot of power, but if you can justify the price why not? :burnout:

yes they do work...

LCP plug and play unit... instantly u can feel ur revs feels lighter... easier pickup from standstill... top speed might decrease a little...

campulley needs adjustment after installation... main purpose of adj campulley is to play with the cam timing... and for DOHC engines, u have intake and exhaust cam timing to play individually....

just wanna ask,

-The exhaust shop told me to change my piping from 1.3 piping ( ? diameter ) to 1.6 piping ( 2" external diameter) since my ride has install the stroker kit.
-need some advice, is the size sufficient ?
-i'm abit confuse when people say 1.7', 1.8' piping size, is it showing the internal or the external diameter size of the pipe?
-for a standard 1.6 car, what was the pipe size?

by the way im owning a satria.

thx you.

Ok, I understand a lot about all your explanation now, thanks a lot! But still, my main concern is to upgrade power, as much as I can gain without affecting my FC...
So, is there any simple solution for me, again?

my style for that would be changing to the k&N filter and change a lighter flywheel. apparently a good air filter gives rise by a few hp according to many but i just it filters better and with larger surface area hence giving better flow and thus better acceleration. ligthening flywheel on the onther hand allow you to have better pick up by u lose in high end power. but if ya looking for pickup, these should help at the moment. its very much cheaper comparitively with other mods and does not affect fuel consumption.. as far as im concern laa haha..

like extractor and piping all makes u lose fuel consumption and its expensive too to get the right extractors. unless u try getting second hand parts which may not be as efficient. just my opinion laa haha. anyway good luck

stroked 4g15 suitable to use 1.8"~2.0" piping... internal diameter size...
