which is suitable for Malaysian climate

- which brand you guys / gals recommend?
- viscosity level?
- good for fuel economy
- protection and power also desired

thanks in advance...

time for my car to have its usual service
18 month old car.

mitsu engine...

most ppl use 10w-40...

using 10w-40 semi synth Eneos...very smooth...no tappet sound...n also its cheap//

nope...actually this kind of grade for engine oil muz c ur car condition...
if ur engine mileage very high...then cant use thin oil...need to use sumthing thicker
perhaps 15-50 or 20-50...if u use too thin 1 like 5-50 5-40...the oil will be burnt off
coz slip thru the worn piston ring

my car...18 months old...
current mileage is 29106 km...

so how? what oil viscosity you recommend?

wat car/engine?

can use fully synth like the 1 u mention...5w-40 not a prob...
if not 10w-40 will suit u most...

the reason why i ask, is because i want to improve fuel consumption on my car.
i understand that if I do not use the correct engine oil, my fuel consumption will go up...

thats why i'm trying to find a suitable engine oil for my car, that suits the Malaysian temperature...

U heard of Tufoil b4?

Believe it or not, but after adding in Tufoil, I found I gain extra mileage. I used to get 10km per 1 litre of petrol.

Now I can get up to 12km per 1 litre of petrol.

i blif spectra is using castrol fully synthetic if u go to service center rite?

izit ur car warranty over edi?

car is still under warranty...another 6 months left.
castrol fully synthetic...which viscosity level?

With Tufoil, engine oils run up to 42% cooler. Besides, the use of Tufoil saves you fuel. Like InitialD, there are many car owners out there who have discovered Tufoil and are willing to share their secrets with others.

Remember, engine oil is supposed to take away friction, but how well does the oil you put into your engine do its work.With Tufoil, you actually gain horsepower. With friction you actually loses it. Sayang-lah!

FocalPoint ...I want to clarify something...=)

When i buy a normal fully synthetic oil, such as Mobil 1 or Castrol or Chemlube ..etc, then I buy 1 bottle of Tufoil and add to the fully synthetic oil...is it?

is this how it works?

Currently which Tufoil u added in?
Heard of this Tufoil quite a while alreday, good comments indeed. but need to consider the cost as well.

In this case, how much we need to pay for the 2 extra 2km.

Gosh, how to choose between good mileage and $$$ ??? :mad: :mad: :mad:

If your monthly petrol bill is RM 400 and should you save 5% because of the use of Tufoil, your monthly savings shall be RM20. Look at this in another way, you are actually getting a discount for your petrol. But which petrol station is into discounts?

Since your car still new, u can use fully-syn, look for 5w-40.
a lot of brand,depends on your budget, for me castrol and eneos not bad. but beware of castrol n mobil 1, coz a lot of imitation out there.. :mad:

oil oso got imitation? how to differentiate?

I'm currently driving a 96' CIvic EJ. but only limited miles at 120,000km. Think i should continue sticking to Castrol Magnatec or since it's an older car, i should resort to something less for oil?

use full bottle of tufoil for the first time only, subsequently half bottle is enough.

i'm using ae111 seg 4afe with mileage 130K+. my ingredients:-

mineral oil - castrol gtx-extra (15w-50 or 20w-50) @RM40++
tufoil @RM60

first time @ RM100++
next change @ RM70++

current finddings per full tank @ RM65
500-510km on highway
430-440km for daily use

:cool:
