Hi Evo lovers,

just subscribed yesterday to this forum. Would like to introduce myself quickly and shoot my first couple of questions.

Just transferred myself and wife to KL 8 days ago to work here. I had to leave my two beloved cars behind, my supercharged S2000 with 437 hp (strongest in Germany) and my Toyota Prius (to complement my fuel consumption with the S2k). Check out some vids of me racing on Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium F1 track) and Nurburgring (including the famous green hell) at youtube (just search for my user name A4XRBJ1).

Due to the high import tax here (hopefully I find a sneak in through classic cars as the S2000 is nine yrs old already) both cars stayed home in a warm garage, I'm now looking for an adequate daily driver which will give me the pleasures of driving in Sepang too.

Guess what, after some search I landed with the Evo X

Always took the Evo into account but as I preferred top down rides in Europe I stayed with the Honda. But being here, no better way to go than the Evo, which will for sure not stay OEM.

Anyway, couple of questions. After finding one used Evo X at Naza (black one from 08, clocked 8k km) I went today to some Mitsu dealers. What a joke, I thought I could choose my car (and colour) when I buy brand new, right? No way here it seems, only Pacifica has one black one sitting there in their showroom for a yr now, they just want to offer 15k rebate (which is the official Mitsu rebate I found out at EON). Nothing more. Guess it will dust a little longer with them.

So where should I head too to get a Evo X? WTB?

Cars are piling up in Japan and elsewhere round the world, no worse time to sell a car than nowadays (found that out myself when trying to sell the Prius). But Evo X seem hard to find, less a 09 model. I don't prefer to have one standing around on a parking lot in Japan for 18 months already.

Any help, any idea where to check out? Manual gear doesn't seem an option with the stop & go here in KL.

Thanks in advance, looking forward to meet you guys & gals in person,

Andreas

TT sounds good, immediately fell in love with this once I tasted it on the plane to KL :proud:

Next couple of weeks are pretty full already until we find our final home, besides house hunting there's always Evo hunting too.

We're looking forward to that,

Andreas

Sh*t, need to work on business plan for next year, in order to gain those $$$$$$ to buy an Evo X.

I have to skip this, hopefully next one. As I'm just starting to work, working hours haven't normalized yet.

Anyway, you probably don't wanna take a look at my rugged up Proton Perdana which I drive as temp car anyway, right? Not even a turbo inside, haha!

no worries bro..there's still lots of TT coming up...hehehehe :smokin:

Andreas,
Welcome to zth and MLOC! there are 2 different types of distributers here in Malaysia that you can get the EvoX. 1 is Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia or 2nd the grey importers. First maybe you can get a hold of a magazine called Motortrader from any magazine shop that you happen to pass by. there are some dealers selling the evoX.

How to get in touch with us?
if you are not sure how to PM us. Drop me a sms on my mobile +6017-3333865.
So that on our next outing for some drinks we will keep you updated and hopefully you can join us.

Cheers!

Hi Andreas,

welcome to the club....very good choice...hope u can hang around with us soon...

...and got 'poisoned' by them to upgrade your ride...now performance parts for EVOX 'flooded' in the market already...hahaha

Coming back to the original thread. I do see differences between the Naza and the Mitsu dealer offer that I don't understand, maybe somebody can explain if Naza wants to pull me over the table or what the reason for their higher prices are, in detail:

Naza offer Mitsu Dealer
1 Yr road tax 379 to 273,50
Registration fee 350 to 60
Inspecction & handling 350 to 250
Number plates - to 50

Assume number plates are include in Naza's Processing fee, but still he is 746,50 RM more expansive than the Mitsu dealer. How come?

Secondly Naza is telling me in their offer that the list price for the Evo X is 320k where Mitsu itself says 316857.10 RM. That is a whopping 3143 RM difference, which Naza wants to show off as their "additional" rebate, haha.

OTR price from the Mitus dealer is 317490.60, they will give 15k rebate from Mitsu, coming down to 302490.60 RM. Naza offers me the used Evo X with 8450km on the clock for 282267, which is then only 20k less. That is a difference of 6.6% to the Mitsu dealers offer, for that difference a get a brand new car vs a used car with a couple of miles from people test driving the car.

Am I the only one to think the offer from Naza is just ridiculous? What would you guys think a real good offer would be?

Thanks in advance for your help,

Andreas

I'd rather have the market being flooded by Evo X available to buy. Seems the market is pretty small, even for someone to seriously shed out a shitload of money.

Andreas

i think the Mitsu dealer offers only SST.
only those grey importer (like Naza) got manual transmission...

what's the year made of the car from Naza and Mitsu dealer ? are they the same or not ?
