Whats up guys. I am really new to the audio world. So ohms and rms are like speaking French to this Texas boy. Im trying to learn and this site i hope will be a big help because it seems everyone at the local installation shops are out for my money. Seriously. I have just added a CDA-105 cd player, jl audio 500/1 amp and a jl audio 10w6 sub. At high volume my 6.5 inch stock 2005 honda civic components sound ragged out and my sub only hits nice to a selective amount of songs. Otherwise they sound weak at best. Is the cd player which claims to push 50 watts x 4 ragging out my components. Do i need to upgrade my components. I am not a rich man and can only really afford cheaper then $100 dollar a pair of components. For these i was looking at the alpine type r's. Will the cd player be enough juice or will these be underpowered? If so any suggestions on a amp. I have just purchased a ported box for the sub and hope my hip hop will hit a little harder. LIke i was saying, i am just looking for a equilibriam between the base and clarity of my sound. Thank you for any help guys.

It would be suffice to upgrade the components and add an amplifier to power up the comps.. I am sure you'll get much better results than the present. By the way, don't forget to dampen your doors (If u have the speakers installed at the doors). This will further enhance the midbass.

The rating of 50w x 4 is the max power (max power is basically useless). You'll be lucky if u get more than 20w RMS x 4 from the headunit.

go and get new component set + amp sure can boost up the quality. btw nice woofer u got there. dreaming to buy one. i found something special about that woofer hahaha.
why not trying kohler component set?

yeap i know... >.< kohler is low budget german made speaker if not mistaken... if the item can arrive msia, why not at his place?
