Need Help for LE Power Steering Conversion

Hello everybody,

I need help from Toyota sifus in this forum. I recently got hold on a complete power steering unit donated from a 1993 Corolla SE 1.3. It happens to have the same engine as my 12 valve LE.

Question is, will the steering rack of the Corolla SE fits my Corolla LE? Will it required any major modification to the steering rack?

I hope Toyota sifus could help in clarifying this matter. Any help is much appreciated.

Bro, steering rack is the least of your problem as even rack from AE111 (Corolla/Levin/Trueno 1.6) will fit on LE without any modifications. The important thing is to get the power steering pump properly fitted/mounted onto the engine. After that, its a matter of getting the right steering column joint to connect to the new rack. Usually the "neck" from Camry will do the job.

FYI, I had my LE 12 valve engine fitted with PS before.
