Maybank - CURIOUS!

Just to enquire on Maybank online service. Accidently I logged in today morning at 02:17 something without knowing the online service is actually online.

Before this as I know, the online service facility will be shutdown at 23:00 and only starts back at 06:00 in the morning.

How come today until this time? .. Maybank forgot to turn off their server?

online i think is 24 hours ...but if ur talking about ATM or money transaction thru ATM...then is 6am-11pm

Maybank2U is not online 24 hours all the time. Many times I accessed it from 12 midnite till 6 am, the online services will be down. Can't even log in. However, if I didn't remember wrongly, there will be times where the services are available. I heard that 12 midnite to 6 am, the online services will not be available.

And I, after a long time of ignorance I would have to admit, that first 4 times of cash withdrawal is free. Every transaction after that has a cost of RM0.50. I think that's seriously crap.

Anyone know of other banks that don't charge for ATM transactions?

Maybank are licensed Ah Longs and are fucking evil.

Every now and then they try and come up with new and sneakier ways to get money from you. They'll attempt to slip in nominal charges here and there under certain conditions that you would not normally notice, and because its usually a small fee, you don't care. BUT, because they have so many customers, they make easy millions just by adding these sneaky little charges here and there.

That's why I'm looking for another bank that doesn't charge us for withdrawing money from ATMs or performing online banking. I won't really mind paying a bit for online banking services, to be honest. However, I'm only willing to pay approximately RM5 per year for it. Considering the possible large amount of customers who are using their online services, they should only charge enough to pay for the over head costs of running and maintenance.

Eh, i didnt know maybank charges us for withdrawing money from ATM. Seriously ? Maybe i didn't notice it. Would try later to confirm

Overhead my balls.

The fact is that internet banking saves cost for the bank, in terms of paper(and other physical costs) and man power. Secondly, these are value added services by the bank for its customers, not another money making avenue for them.

Banks = Evil and that's a fact.

They do.

They tell you happily that they give you 4 FREE transactions per month. And subsequently charge 50 cents per transaction after that.

Again, the ATM helps banks to reduce costs using automation. And for some strange reason, we have to pay for that.

Again, these are value added sevrices to attract customers. If it is such a burden to them to provide these services, ask them not to provide it lar. See how many people want to use their banks.

wat? RM0.50 for own bank transaction? .. i thought they charge MEPS RM1.00 if withdraw from other MEPS ATM's .. shit!..

RM0.50 x 100 withdrawals? ..??????

Sekarang baru you orang tau.

You guys think lar, how much has Maybank earned from this sly 50 cents charge for 5th transaction onwards.

And this has been implemented for quite a long time. We are talking about millions and possibly billions of account holders money going permanently to the bank and its shareholders. How much in return do they pay you as interest for your accounts?

No they don't. Only inter bank transfers they charge RM2 per transaction. 3rd party transfers to other Maybank accounts are free.

Looks like i chose the wrong bank.
What about other banks ? Like BCB, public bank, etc ?
