hi,i was wondering how am i gonna install itb in my 16v.wat do i need n can i run it on my stock ecu?have anyone done this before?

gonna cost u alot. adapters here in australia cost about AU$400 already. As for ecu, think our malaysian pride is still in R&D stage for it.

Hi

Adaptor plate I don't know how much - Bill sherwood is making one. If you're near, do drop him a email.

Original ECU will not work anymore .... I won't recommend piggy bag either.

I seriously recommend standalone solutions, solve all problems at once and plenty of rooms for improvements. No regret.

2 years ago i ever run 4 throttle on 16v..
make the adapter plate as short as possible. u must have a fuel controller such as SAFC or SFC that able to tune stage by stage when rpm incease.
4 throttle vaccum will not stable at idle.. so u will run sooooo rich at low rpm up to 4000rpm then it started to run fine but at 6000rpm above will go to lean side.

i can say it give very good throttle respond for drifting. but it totaly kill ur low end torque below 3000rpm. 4th gear will totaly no torque to uphill under 3000rpm.
have to keep rpm high to remain the torque.

use blue top injectors, dun use 20v side feed it will be soooo rich. take the throttle body only attach to a adapter to mouth on ur head.
i see some one using the 20v inlet manifold with throttle body and another adpater to attach to 16v head. so they have to run 20v injectors. and also the intake will be long.

make the butterfly as close to the head as possible, for more low end make a longer intake trumpet.

and another issue, watch up ur water outlet pipe. ur 4 throttle might touching it if u dont mod the outlet pipe.
mine adapter is very very short so still got enough clearance for the water outlet pipe.

any question about this setup pls ask..
i run this for 1 year. then take out and sell off. this setup is fun but u will bored if it was a street car.

u need to play with the throttle all the time when going out from junction or uphill.
have to keep rpm high, if not the engine will stall when u suddenly apply too much throttle open.

no.. impossible..
believe.. i tried before i got fuel controller..
plug all wet if keep idle too long. low throttle, like diesel... all black smoke.

so it is possible without standalone ecu!?!?!?
of course "NOT POSSIBLE"

unless you are willing to accept a "NON acceptable" quality.

thanks TE27 Levin for sharing ....

reminder

20v injectors 295 cc/min

16v injectors 185 cc/min

MUST use standalone........

It's not just about fuel ................. please don't be naive

It's also about IGNITION TIMING MAP

but please don't stop here ..................

You think engine engineering so easy meh ......................

get a standalone for this project - then will be succesfull.....

the ignition map should be no problem, u can adjust it manualy by timing light..
if u touch on the timing cams gear then need to do adjustment again.

the big issue was the vaccum from ITB is not stable like single Throttle. bluetop map ecu will get crazy and run rich at low throttle. cos with near 30% throttle it already go to 0 vaccum..
a SAFC1 or 2 will be the best for this, u can adjust the high and low throttle fuel map for the ITB.

so it just like u running high duration cams and cause the idle crazy.. any way if u match high duation 282 cams with ITB on 16v, it still can be street able with piggy back and ur power band will be very nice BUT u can't throw away the rev limit that another BIG issue for N/A.

that why i give up.

:P i sure u happy to rev from 4000rpm to higher rpm higher rpm... then u will end out with this conclusion ""what the F$%K Toyota map ecu rev limit @#$%^&*@^@$#@!!!!! ""
u spend so much money and so nice power but end out with rev limit blocking ur power band at 7500rpm.
play weber better lar... play V-TEC better la..

Oooooooiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii Te27 Levin

I'm talking about the ignition MAP, not distributor timing. Surely the MAP optimisation is very different from standard throttle to fuel throttle.

ignition map and fuel goes hand in hand. if ITB fuel map changed so much, surely the ignition map changed so much.

This one learn from sifu bill sherwood......

aiyoo~
u see kenak sifu tembak liaw..
no money dont mod ITB. engine engineering not easy la.dont DIY ....
must ask those susumo, haltech, microtech tuner from over sea help u do.

 if want to do that ah.. we wont talk about piggy back already. just go into stand alone liaw.. since ignition map also need to edit to run for ITB, that mean whole engine fuel/ ignition management have to change.
hahaha change engine la...
play vtec.

bluetop with 9.4c/r piston, we set the timing to 16advance is good enough. no need to change remap la.. not force induction mahh.. wont blew engine one..

also remap the ignition timing on stock bluetop with ITB, also wont gain much. stock 125hp and do remap ignition/fuel. maybe juz 20hp more.. lol..
