GIMME YER' MONEY!!!

He! He! Would really love to hear how you made your money actually.

I work hard! Earn a Hard! But the problem is I spend hard oso~ Still my ECR34 GTT never come out yet. D/P paid oledi. Chilakak punyer BumiAuto~!!!

KungFuMan,

LOL, I regret posting that now but I was feeling somewhat annoyed with the constant stereotypes. Long story short, when market was hot last year I traded hard and I mean very hard (for my circumstances). Basically, most of the time I was risking all I ever had and luckily alot of my bets paid of - I played mostly Mesdaq and on occasion, Main Board and rarely did I bet on call warrants other than Genting's on the eve of them being awarded the Casino in Singapore ;) But a couple months before Elections in March '08 I exited market cause it was all too artificially propped up already (it always is but this was pushing it!) for all the UMNO linked companies to prepare their campaign funds. Plus, last year RPGT was abolished so flipping properties was good for awhile but now property market sucks. If you had the energy, can try buying commercial properties via auction but I'd rather drive a Honda.

Now I'm just a farmer - feed-lotting of cows and hopefully in a month or two might start a kids clothing line but for cool kids. Think Stussy, Billabong, etc for kids at decent prices.

As for BumiAuto, I've had bad experience with them. Wanted to buy 350z last year. Went to see but they wanted deposit of RM20k before I could test drive. :banghead: And they wanted to make it very hard for me to pay for the car - insisted I pay them in batches of RM50k everyday for 4 days and the fifth day pay the RM30k or so (Total was RM230k). First time I've seen a person refuse receiving payment.

Salute bro Pimpin! You should take part in CLEO's Most Eligible Bachelor! That ikan bakar guy is just rubbish... lol

Pimpin
very simple reason why they refuse cash

The salesman major commision come from loan and insurance
if for 230k and with min downpayment 30k plus 200k loan
the salesman easily earn RM2k from the loan commision itself
the car commision itself not a lot.
around 300 to 500 depending car

so for your case.. the salesman might earn very little only
hench they look like doesnt want receive your payment
the boss sure happy since cash sale
but salesman sure not happy.

Hi there,

Well to quote rych, sometimes we just can't help stereotyping la..know of a fella..spendin so much on the car end of the day gotta sell the car just to survive..sad case that one...

PIMPIN, for street duties i think your choice of goin stroker route is the way to go ...was goin down the same route wit my GTR (albeit runnin GT-SS turbines only). Its the area 'beneath' the curve that matters...whats the use of big power if the power band is from 6 - 7k rpm onwards? hehe...but anyway car been sold off last year liao so project stop!

Off topic PIMPIN if u had a million to invest ..wud you be goin for a condo in kl or landed property?...

Wah Lau Weh~ PIMPIN from now on you are my mentor. Ho~ Ho~ My American friend keep urging to buy the Schlumberger (The Company I'm working now) stock as public. Too bad the company doesn't open their trade in Malaysia. I'm not sure whether it's safe or not to invest in US market. Scare there will charge me a lot later on (Foreign taxes, and bla... bla... bla...).

The case in BumiAuto from what I heard is their salesmen are kencing kuat lar. Last month they keep asking me to pay RM900 la, RM300 la, for bribing the bank people la. I just smile at them and reject it. But I really want that GTT. So I go straight deal with Dato' Roslan. Give him the D/P oledi but the problem is Dato' is so fucking busy. Have to wait for 3 month oledi. Siao!!! If I know it's gonna be likes this I will keep the money and buy properties-lah.

Anyway, how many rides u got???

Jeff86ks - Eligible? Cannot lah bro. You think I look like some movie star? :congrats:

cmng - I didn't think of it that way plus I have no idea how their business works but I just felt he was being way too pushy and RM20k for a test drive? Madness. But I guess we all have to cari makan somehow.

Eevolution3 - First things first, like you I'm not obsessed with power figures - its just a personal target cause at the end of the day, increase in average power across the rev range is whats key to good street driven setup. Imagine having 300hpatw @ 4000rpm and suddenly turbos hit full boost and at 4500rpm you're dealing with over 450hp atw (Just an example, but you get what I mean). Having said that, I don't think I'd ever have a turbo that starts boosting at 6k rpm.

Secondly (off-topic), although the property market is slowing down, the value of property will always increase in the long run. However, if you have RM1million and you want to invest then you have to decide if you want rental income or capital gains? I don't rent out any of my houses cause I'm allergic to income tax but capital gains are good. Another factor would be time - if this long term or are you looking for fastest return on the RM1mil? If you want capital gains then naturally you would want to buy something in areas where property values increase faster than most. If I'm not mistaken, last year the values of landed residential properties in prime areas: Damansara Heights (24%), Bangsar (can't remember), Taman Tun (17%), Duta (similar to D'sara Heights). The problem with these areas is that RM1mil won't get you anything. There are other areas particularly around KLCC, etc but that's a different world altogether. I remember going to the launch of Avare near KLCC and their penthouses were RM9.9mil. An alternative would be the Mutiara D'sara area but if you're about 18 months late. Bear in mind, this is my opinion. I've loved property since young and the above are based on personal experience, studying of JLW Yearly Property Reports and also keeping in touch with those in the industry. I happen to know several property developers whom are listed on Bursa and just by catching up with them and talking you can sort of figure out which areas are coming up based on the moves they make, etc. Then again, I'm still young so I'm probably not telling you anything new.

KungFuMan - Bro, oil & gas sector particularly oil companies and those who provide related services such as rigs, pipeline, etc are seeing good returns from the surging oil prices and constant demand. This will never change. Since the days of Rockefeller and Standard Oil, its a good business to be in although there are periods such as stagflation in the 70s which hit the US particularly hard, people aren't going to stop using oil anytime soon. However, please bear in mind that the US Dollar is depreciating and if you were to borrow money to invest, remember the interest rate in Malaysia is lower than in the US (3.5% vs 5.25% if I remember correctly). I don't invest in the US but I believe you need a bank account there, an address in the US, etc. Again, I'm not sure but there is paperwork involved. As for taxation, whatever income you derive overseas is not taxable here but sending the money overseas is a hassle. I've sent money overseas to subscribe for shares (not US) and I spent 6 hours filling up forms with Bank Negara's FX controller (this was a substantial amount under company name so individual I'm not sure).

Damn~! You should write a book la Sifu [PIMPIN]!
:adore:

Appearance does not play a major role for that ...lol, when you look at the previous candidates for Malaysia CLEO's Most Eligible Bachelor, you'll understand... hehe

PIMPIN - As you mentioned, anything within the immediate vicinity of KLCC will be outa my budget (RM 2k/sq ft) . The 2nd tier areas (embassy row etc) are where im lookin at..(SPSetia skyresidences kinda attracting my interest (views of KLCC and KL tower)) but heck im more for capital gains then rental yields. Was lucky to have invested in sri hartamas when condos there were priced at the high 300s/sq ft (now up to 500/sq ft est) thus a decent gain there. Whats your take on landed property @ Puchong area (Bandar Putri etc) ?

Salute to you Pimpin..:adore:

I admire ppl who explore the possibilities of being independent when they are young. It's god's wishes that you have a helping hand from the start then it fate in your hand to live your destiny.

As for your hp goals for your ride, that's a decent power for an everyday ride and would still scare porsches or ferrari anytime. I would go for T04Z anytime.

Hope you get your ride out for a blast soon....Cheers bro!

Sorry been busy with life in general so cars have taken back seat. Basically HKS 2.8, T04Z, triple plate, Motec M800 with Motec dash, twin external Bosch pumps and 1200c 2 injectors. That's all for now.

Kungfuman,

There are many online broker that you can trade the US markets, such as Optionsxpress, with its regional base in Singapore, which u can always deposit SGD to trade, with their currency conversion rate though.
