Imported Civic Ferio vs Local Civic

Anyone can enlighten me about the difference between Japan imported Civic Ferio 1.7 and local Civic 1.7? Is the engine and major spare parts same? Will it be difficult to maintain in term of finding the right workshop and the cost? Thinking of getting one Ferio but afraid the maintenance is costly and difficult. Please advise, thanks.
