Lets say i am using 1 pair of component and 1 pair of rear speaker. Both are 120w maximum peak powers.HOw to define a good 4 channel that is suitable for this speakers?. Is it considering the RMS or the ohm impedence that the amp produce? Well i hope i can get a straight and sincere answer to my question. Thanks !

look at RMS rating rather than peak/maximum power rating.

I'm guessing its rms rating is around 50w rms. Most component have impedence of 4 ohm so might look at amp rated around 50-70w rms per channel.

takumi,
follow the speaker RMS rating with the same RMS power on the amp at the speaker impedence load.

some speakers would have the power written as
eg.
Nominal power 60w (does this mean RMS?)
Max power 120w

I think usually for component speaker and normal speaker
we use 4 ohm impedence isnt it. Is there any situation where ppl would use
different ohm impedence?

nominal power = rms power handling

you can't find many speakers with lower than 4ohm for car audio use except subs

different ohm impendence i think is required in a competition.:)

hehe brader no la where got...

impedance u use when figuring out sub wiring to get the most out of your amp...

well help me if i am wrong :) after all you got a lot of IASCA trophy.

Zenn, .. you really won that many IASCA trophy? kool
what car were u using to compete n brand name of speakers + amp?

wah abg zenn tylo... throphy man... buahahahahahahahahahaha...

nasib baik aku lupa nama 'Melayu' anda yang diberi oleh orang Jumaat lepas... buahahahahahahahaahahaha...

esok on wei... bosan ni... sabtu tak keje!!!

Relax lar... aku esok menikah malam tu pun boleh layan Char Kei dekat Taiping punya lake... he he he... kena kasi dia relax sikit... he he he...

ko nye otak wiring dah out of phase, tu la pasal...hehe....

Look at the fuse rating. Most powerful amp have bigger fuse rating like 50A or 30A.... smaller amp (with bigger case) would use small fuse like 20A below..

dont look at the power rating written on the box unless it 100% written RMS. U cant really tell unless u hook up the amp with your speaker, so its best u bring ur car to the shop and try every amp that u can afford and listen to the sound.
