Engine Oil

redline 10w-30 work best with hi revving n/a engine.it makes ur engine lighter
cos of the thin viscosity.

it was okie when i used the toyota 10-30 on my starlet, dis is the recommended weight for the 4efte in the manual. i dont see y a lower weight number cant be used in a charged engine.. for me, its all about tolerances, if ur engine is old, better use a thicker oil to seal in compression

how bout if not losing compression, still need to seal it..??

sorry, newbie here...

if not losing compression? den u can use a lower weight oil

compression is supposed to be sealed in the combustion chamber by the compression piston rings, but if the rings cant hold it in then a thicker oil mite help to reduce the losses by filling in the gaps between the cylinder wall and the rings. oil is actually used to lubricate, to reduce friction on moving parts, not to seal compression in. but if we can use it for another reason just by changing to a heavier weight, then y not?

what's good for the engine ??
i mean the oil....

any brand of oil is good if u change the oil frequently as the manufacturer
suggested.go for w40 n above.avoid w60 as it's only meant for race use.
damn thick.make ur car feel under powered.:).but in term of protection,
damn good.:)
