the degree of cruely towards animals is totally unacceptable. it often makes me wonder who the animals really are. i got my first dog about 13 years ago. my maid was strolling to the market when she witnessed a group of boys that had doused this poor little puppy in oil. she was afraid that they might have wanted to set her on fire or something and as such, chased the boys off and took her home. we cared for her for 13 years and she recently passed away last Nov on Deepavali Day. In many ways, she was my best friend and most loyal companion. the day she died shall remain one of the saddest days on my life. my maid had called me to say that she thought our dog was going to die. i was in a meeting and could not rush home. my brother rushed home as soon as he could and held her in his arms. she died in his arms not long after. it was as though she waited for one of us to come home to say goodbye. my greatest regret is that i never got a chance to say a proper goodbye. it still eats me up till today. :frown:
i recently got another 'companion'. he was found by by neighbours friend. what had happened was a 4WD dropped him off by the side of Sprint Highway near Eastin. My neighbours friend quickly picked him up and brought him to my neighbours house. My neighbour could not keep him and asked if I would failing which he would have to turn him into the RSPCA. and we all know what that means... i decided to give him a home and that was a couple of months ago.
the point of this story i guess it to say that unlike humans, animals can be your most loyal and loved companion and it astounds me as to how people can treat them so badly. if i had a license to shoot to kill, these mofo's will top my list.
