I did this few weeks ago. Please give your comments on it. It took me 3 hours to change both.

I forgot to mention that i am changing the springs from the stock to a lousy sport spring.

What we need first.

Tools.

Spannars - not adjustable ones. 17mm
Heavy duty socket spannar also 17mm
Playar this and that.

As i mentioned tools are important. Make a day that one of the hardware shop is open so that you can get anything if you are not a tools collector. WD40 is quite handy also.

It consist of 2 bolts - i recommend 6 - 10 inches bolt with full thread
nuts you can use back the stainless steel cable clips
make sure you got the correct size so it fits.

The recepi content

2 stainless steel cable clips - make sure it can clip your spring
2 bolts as mentioned above and been arranged to this...

It only cost me around RM5.

Then, take out two of the nuts above. As shown by picture. If i am mistaken, it is at 14mm or 15mm.

A reminder here:

To loosen the nuts and bolts, hold on the bolt with a spannar and turn the nut. Take out the nut first and then the bolt will be easier. I hope you know what is nut and bolt. Nut is a round thng that screws inside a bolt. A bolt looks like a stick with threads.

Take out the clip with a playar by pulling out from the direction of the purple arrow.

The take out the bolts and nuts shown by cyan arrows.

wahhh ken, i wanna change back to original springs wor...can help kah? muahahhahaha

nice job.

I have two ways to remove the nut above the absorber so that the tray will come out and replace my spring.

1) COMPRESS THE SPRING METHOD - compress the spring with the RM5 compressor. until you see some clearance with your springs and tray above. Then remove the nut above. This method must be applied if you just want to change the absorber without changing the spring because the stock spring is long.

2) WITHOUT COMPRESSING THE STOCK SPRING - It is fun! OK, this is what we need. A strong...... Drums please...

:) If you compressed the spring then you don't need to use that bucket.

To remove the nut above, you wil notice a small hole at the upper spring tray. Put in a strong nail or something strong. I put alan key because i was lazy to go find a nail. The purpose of this is to counter the force to open up the nut above.

Yellow colour - upper mount
cyan colour - tray

Use some cow force and you wll be able to open it.

I tried both of the methods.

For the WITHOUT COMPRESSING THE SPRING METHOD,

1) put the bucket into sleep position
2) direct your top absorber to the mouth of the bucket closely in sleep position also
3) remove the nut and PING! the top mount and the tray will bounce into the bucket. Don't worry about the nut. It will be sticking at your socket spanner.

To install the sport spring,

Pull the shaft of the absorber so that it will be at the longest state. The shinning thing ahh. :) And place your spring.
