I always thought the old weights had to be removed before mounting the wheel onto the balancing machine. What's this thing about 'high speed' balancing doesn't need the old weights to be removed? I think the workers are taking a short cut. I just want to clarify this before banging table

A clean way is to remove all weights and start fresh.

There are reasons why they balance with existing weights still on.
1) Test whether the weights are still in the right place, so they just add or minus accordingly
2) If the balancing is out slightly they just add the small amount of weight. This is to save on the weights
3) If the weights are totally off, they normally remove them and start fresh

Thanks for the reply bro. However, I'm still a bit skeptical, feel it's not the most accurate way.

By right, since you are paying they should do fresh from start.

For me, some shop I go to, they know me very well, they charge me cheaper rate so if they can save on the weight, ok with me, So far for me, no problem, no vibration.....:driver:
