ATF and Power Steering Fluid - how often should change?

hi, how about brake and coolant fluid? How many k km?and duration should i change and replace? thanks

For me, as brake fluid absorbs water, I change yearly or maximum before 2 years.
Coolant can check the coolant color. Usually change when color fades which is about 2 years for good quality coolant....

I'm anal about fluid changes. As long as the brake fluid changes colour from (mine's red) the original colour to something dark and blackish, I flush it.

As for coolant I make it a point to flush it every 2 services. Meaning about the same time I change my ATF.

By mileage a bit difficult, as some travels a lot and some does very low mileage and will take years to reach 80k km

where can i find a shop which provide reflushing atf?? in selangor area/kl?

thanks

not recomended to flush atf...just change frequently or every 20-30k kms.
for perdana 10-15k kms need to change edi.

If keep using same atf, then okay to do oil pan change. My friend will do change at 20k km, then at 40k km another change and at 60k km a flush. If he intend to change atf brand then he will flush....

Why not advisable to flush ATF? any cons? I did change brand of ATF once but didnt flush...

Puchong okay? If yes, I can pm you my mechanic's address.....

great, near with my place.. yup my pleasure. is it he's reflushing using like a dialisis machine or in traditional way?(need to stanby 8liters of atf)

i heard it will damage the internals.

I think depends on a few criteria. The machine should not be on with high pressure. I have to double check with my mechanic on this, but he has done flushes with many makes of cars already.
The gear box should have good maintenance record, for example 20k km change, 40k km change then 60k km flush. Many use for 100k km then ask to flush, probably gear box slightly damaged already then flush gear box and not working already.....:banghead:

With machine. Run and filter the old atf, then let in new atf while the old atf comes out. Stop when atf color comes out clear. Flushing requires minimum 12 liters if not mistaken...

Traditional method, uses atf pan change, run engine and circulate gear box, then atf pan change again. They do 3 times if not mistaken, but to me this way the new atf and old atf just mix up inside....

so what's ur opinion in my case? should i.. or shouldn't? haha..

I will pm you the contact address, then you ask my mechanic to test and give you his opinion.
He is very nice guy, got one member went to him to check the draft shaft.
He tested and told the drive shaft starting to make noise only, but can use. Only when got loud sound ask him to come back and then he will change.

I think I'll pass  or ask SC for advice

SC guaranteed use traditional method. I have not seen a flushing machine in any SC so far.
My wife Chery SC did it the way I mentioned, change 3 times for a flush.....
