4G63T Club

yesterday i bought a 4g63t (a) halfcut from a shop and planning to put it into my super touring, i like to get some advice from zth members on the maintenance since this is the first time im using a turbo engine :D
 
Among the 200,220 n 240 HP VR4 wic 1

1)uses ECI-MULTI
2)Has the ECU wic can be upgraded? something related to EPROM izit? :D

NA 4G63 ECI-MULTI and VR4 ECI-MULTI same 1 ah? Y some ppl can even use pajero's 1? :D

Juz wanna understand more bout VR4 species. :lol:
 
What's the average fuel consumption of an Evo 6/7/8 ?
How far could you guys go with a full tank on average ?

Btw, does the EVO7 GT-A save more on fuel ?
 
Hey all I am new to the board.......looking for a few things. I am in Canada.....Toronto to be exact...I own a Eclipse GSX 95' and a 95' colt...4g15....I would like to know if the 4g63 na from the earlier 1gen's is the same as the 4g63t internaly? Imput would be helpful. I have everything to make it turbo charged if it can handle it...as I have done many upgrade to the eclipse I would like to be cheap and buy a na version if it's the same internaly and just bring it to the stock level...which would be ton's for the little...colt/mirage? please if you know something on this issue some imput would be appreciated......thanxs a bunch

welcome ! ,

well internals are slightly different , as n/a has higher compression and the n/a block has no oil squiters , the cam's profile is slightly lower if not mistaken . but that is not an issue , if you check out dsmtuners.com or galantvr4.org there are quite a few runing on the n/a block with lower compression pistons .

if you have the complete turbo kit to be fitted in then you would run just fine .

1. Complete T25 , T28 or TDO5H turbo kit which includes the oil line pipe , exhaust manifold & downpipe

2. Complete intercooler pipings & blowoff , this depends on where you source your parts , JDM has bigger intercooler the USDM its smaller and the pipes has totaly different routes .

3. Compatible injectors , ecu , maf & fuel pump

4. Get the 7.8:1 pistons and head gasket

once you have all this you would run quite the same figures as the stock turbocharge 4G63 .
 
I wanna thank you for your imput and appreciate the quick response. This is what I was afraid of....i.e. the oil sprayers...I do have all the oil lines and the stock T25 off of the eclipse along with all the other essentials....20min ago I found a 4g63t with 90,000kms complete for 700$CDN in my neck of the woods...so I might just pick that up....The idea is still sound for the colt though....as with the 95' to 99' eclipse's apparently get "crank walk". I have never had a problem with my eclipse but mabey a couple of engines laying around would be good. Again, I thank you.

Another question for whom-ever. I am currently seeking engines and drive-trains for whole-sale in Canada...We have a serious problem when it comes to aquiring Japanese replacement or performance engines. There is high demand and I intend to meet at least my local market. I am seeking various engines and drivelines to fill a 20 by 40 crate. Where would one begin to look for competativly priced engines in Japan? This may seem outlandish, but I have recently been granted funds by my local municipal government based on my buisness plan to purchase such items. Any thoughts and or input would be greatly appreciated....thanx again!

well the 95 - 99 eclipse is more similiar to the evolution 1 - 3 , has higher compression , bigger maf , bigger injectors , bigger turbo " T28 " , and has smaller ports , smaller TB , and its runing on 7 bolt's , compare to the 1st gen eclipse which is more identical with the galant vr4's .

im still puzzled with the crank walk , i`ve been hearing lots of stories from dsmtuners.com and its been happening on the 7bolts , maybe you could tell more in detail what does crank walk really means ?. cause back here in Malaysia i`ve never heard people complaning about crank walk .

if you need stuff to be shipped to canada , maybe you could message carcass , cause he is dealing this kind of stuff ( various car parts / engines ) . maybe you could deal with him , cause if not mistaken he ships stuff to the States .

i think soon we can share our problems...so wud suspension system did u plan to put in..coz im stil in try n error..that is my main problem..
 
this engine im using for 3years adi since last time overhaul n transplant EVO3 head until now........

all of u GSR speed demons out there,

anyone externally wastegated their GSR yet?? thinkin of doing it for mine but dunno too much about this. some have said better do it properly n use banana extractor others say no problem jus use existing manifold n weld an outlet pipe to the wastegate... for 1 bar of boost using stock twin-fin turbine what's the best wastegate size?? any brands to recommend for w/g?? feedback appreciated
