Im new to the world of cars!

Hey im darion 14 years old i just recently got into cars. I want to know how they work so i can mod my first car which will be a 1969 dodge charger :D! It like the general lee from the dukes of hazzard. Anyway i love looking at a nice clean engine. So my first question is how do you keep your engine soo clean! How does the engine work? Whats a "hemi"? i would like to know everything and anything about cars! i want to be able to work on mine and know what im doing when i get it.

Haha hey Darion, welcome welcome. Our forum is here over in Malaysia and reaaaally far away from miami and were not too experienced with the charger cause everything here is either Malaysian made, Japanese or Korean rides. Barely any american cars here . Lucky you being able to choose from such a variety over there...

Uh clean enginewise, its really down to you, a bucket of soap, rags and a whole lot of patience. Belive me cleaning your engine bay is something you wanna do with your dad or a friend at least to keep you from being bored and having half an engine bay clean, ahaha

Oh a hemi head is the combustion chamber 'head', its hemispherical (Half a circle) thats how its name came about.

I suggest you get maybe someone in Miami thats knowledgeable about chargers and cars more than you, we all here love to help but theres SOOOO much to talk about engines and not all can be done on a forum :rolleyes:

Just out of curiousity, how many C.I's is the charger youre planning to get? And are you getting it in a manual or auto?

Cubic inches a.k.a the capacity of the engine, oh well, I can google that up later...

Hmm cool cool, if youre planning to get big power and go drag racing i'd suggest an auto! Much more consistent timing

If youre running big power your clutch isnt going to take alot of abuse constantly, seriously :P. Even if it could its gonna be seriously hard... I can guarantee you that haha. I like manuals too, so thats a plus! Haha.

Jumping? WOW, youre going to be breaking alot of shit too! (Totally no offence) Most of the dukes of hazzard cars are scraped after the movie soooo, yeah. Expensive much!

Suspension bits and pieces are going to take the fall for the charger, haha. How much do you know about how a car works anyway?

lol not much. i just wanna look badass with a nice crazy ass engine and a sweet car XD lol but i doubt ill be jumping aint much to jump round here haha. But yea i really would like to get to know how everything works.

Haha cool cool, take your time, youre still very young :p. Use google often and it'll teach you ALOT of stuff haha.

If youre really lazy though, you can spend your money on a crate engine then do minor tuning to your preferences . Then spend the money on paint and rims...

So out of curiousity again, how would you dream charger look like? :D

Gosh seriously? Why not get it dubbed or something... I cant imagine a young guy driving that in MIAMI of all the classy places :O.

Metallic purple with a sliver top and black interior, i'd so want that here in Malaysia :/.
