prasath,

next weekend free or not...teman me pergi sunway ok?

my car got big problem i think...yesterday when i'm on my home it was raining heavily...my car ran over a patch of water and suddenly my car vibrates strong enough i'll swear it feels like the engine going to explode.

but when i lift my foot off the gas pedal the vibration gone...and come back when i press the pedal again. this happened for about 2 mins. :hmmmm:

any idea guys?

maybe the water kena your electronic sennser..after the water dry..will be ok...if the water suck into your engine the piston n rod will serious damage....i think not a big problem...

hmmm..time to share some experience..dont have to worry abang farhan..that is simply normal for almost all dc5's. especially when you done exhaust systems/piping. I get it most of the time when its raining..janji jalan basah teruk sure get...when you run over a pile of water especially. Then you will get vibration on the whole chassis for a while until the pipe gets hot again..macam bunyi fairlady kan??:biggrin:

This is simply because the pipe flexes when it gets hit suddenly by cold water. So it bends and hits our chassis below. If you dont believe me you can jack the car up on the hoist and ill show you the exact hitting point.. tak payah pergi sunway..its normal..if you dont believe me..go out when it rains heavily and simply run thru piles of water and there you get your fairlady 350z again :)

cheers:rolleyes:

same happened to me when i first got the car. Panic siot. Siap stop kat petrol station tu. But I realized after removing my mid box, there's no more vibration whenever I drive thru puddle of water..

Meor - will the exhaust sound louder if i remove my mid box?

hmmm...maybe because your piping still 2.3 :) cuba 2.5 tengok..fairlady siut..

yes stevie..removin the box will definately make ur car louder  even if its just a resonator, there is still a difference.

Hmmm... interesting discussion...
I've noticed something more / less the same like what jfa mentioned, but on my ep3....
In wet conditions (really wet, not like lite drizzel), my exhaust is like loose and when u downshift, the piping hits the undercarriage, but when dry, nothing of the kind at all... but no whole chassis shaking thing like what some of you guys experience... anymore theories / explanation?

to prasath, rev, fadhil and meor thanks a lot for the feedback. very much appreciated. kudos to this forum

yes fadhil in a way it sounds mcm fairlady...but the shaking was really terrifying! heh!heh! the whole car vibrates.

i can see the stain of power steering fluid and the water coolant spilled due to the violent shaking.

again thanks for the feedback...

hmmm..not literally whole chassis shake la..what i actually meant was the undercarriage has this rumbling sound (metal hit metal) and shakes the recaro and brings the chill to ur spine :P

Honda piping structure sucks :thefinger::thefinger: summore rendah gile..

This is good info, thanks guys!

Btw, 2.5" piping, it MUST hang that low?
My car not lowered but last night i checked my thermal wrap coming off already, I think cos I hit my exhaust a few times at the ramp at my basement parking.

Today lunch gonna go JFA and ask them to help me balut back the wrapping.

.

that is why......u need the Skunk2 socks...to prevent the fluids from spilling out....:biggrin:

minivan,

i believe you are having the same issues like most of us. the exhaust path of the DC5/EP3 is not like of those EF,EG,EK,DC2 - the pipe will go thru the middle of the car from the extractor and will bend right before the fuel tank. on the DC5, the exhaust is diverted to the side instead going through the middle (since there is the 180degree flange welded at the centre of the under chassis) and you can actually see the gap of the pipe with the chassis is just few centimetres (furthermore we do not have any coating/antirust underneath so the sound is very obvious). so as what fadil said, the pipe flexes when water goes on it and it will hit the chassis.. we call this in malay - kembang/kuncup effect. Haha.

Hmm....
Ok, thanks guys.... so is there any solution for this 'pipe-banging-undercarriage-when-wet' issue?
