I've seen that video directly in youtube as well. Yes staggered setup will be more understeer and more suitable for high powered RWD cars (or AWD too like those Porsche 911 Turbos, 918, and Lambos). Having said that, I was running staggered setup on my car for 5 years and I don't feel it too understeer anyway and the tail can still slide out on certain situations despite my car power is just normal level only. One good thing I noticed with this staggered setup is it's safer in the wet as the front cuts water easier due to narrower size. Now I'm running square 245 tires and the car aquaplanes sooner I think. In the dry, the square turns in better and more neutral though while the steering feel is nicer/heavier just a tad. Another thing is I think the staggered setup chews up the front tires sooner.

Yours the staggered size do not differ too much, right? As per the video, the more difference between the front and rear the car setup becomes worse...

My first were 215/245 and then 225/245. The later one was of course a better setup. Anyway I had also stiffen up the rear bars so more neutral even with such staggered setup.

I'm on staggered setup now on a RWD. When I change tyres definitely going for square setup. All the grassroots racing and track day pilot swears by square setup. I'm sure they are onto something.

Racing drivers got good skill when catching the car during oversteer so they will always prefer the most responsive/neutral setup. Having use staggered for 5 years and now on square, I think I also like the square better but since I need to use 245/40/18, the sidewall height is only 9.8cm which is a bit too thin profile for my liking so slightly harsher ride than what I'd like to be. If I use staggered, I can use 225/45 at the front and 255/40 at the rear which has 3-4mm taller sidewall hence more comfortable ride. So there's a trade off between the 2 setups, whether I want more neutral handling or more comfort, that's my dilemma with my current 18' size. Probably should've gone with square 18x8.5 or 18x9 so I can just use 255/40 all around, or downsize to 17x8.5 and use 245/45/17 all around hence get the most grip with more neutral balance with still more comfort too.

For my last time the front finished faster by maybe 20%. On my current square setup, seems more even but this time not conclusive because I got the tires already used when I bought the rims.

Yes 8jj & 8.5jj rims. Probably need to change rims if going for square, then its gonna be 8.5jj all round.

245/45 R18 is the plan. stock was 225/45 & 255/40. Why don't you go with 245/45 R18?
