Nope, I want to know how come he placed a booking after few days of discussion, whereas the guy who started this topic haven't bought squat for months. cabutz :burnout:

ixeo : One of these days I'mma gonna do an ixeo on you man. It's not my car la. I already said a thousand times it's the missus punya car. I'm not that fickle! In fact I already know what I wanna get when it comes out. 6-speed CFE!

Aussieland has the manual variant of the Suprima. That's a good indicator if you ask me.

As for froufrou, I think we just reached to his inner Mazda. His uncle Nissan hasn't developed yet, his fuddy-duddy Toyota just wasn't loud enough and his heavy revving Honda was muted by his wife. Hehehe

You guys have played a big role in my decision. And for that, I really appreciate it. Thank you. From this forum,I managed to narrowed down to 3 choices - mazda6, Camry and teana. Went to 1u to have a good look at the car and I really impressed with Mazda 6. Comfortable, HUGE legroom at the back and the boot is freaking huge. The newer version of 2.0 got GPS, which is a plus. The SA gave me rm4k rebate, which is awesome. Straight away placed my booking. After that, just to be sure, I head out to KLIM to check out other brands. None of the cars at KLIM really interest me except Citreon DS5. Kept me drooling the whole day. Not really impressed with Camry and teana. Boot and legroom is a bit smaller than mazda6 (I could be wrong but that is just my observation). My wife also said the same thing. She is really happy with Mazda 6. In terms of maintenance, the SA told me it is comparable to Toyota and Honda, but maybe a bit more expensive (maybe 50-100) more, which is fine. Fuel consumption is the best among the 3. So I got to save on that. Overall,I am quite happy with my booking and you guys have helped me a lot. Thank you.

Ps: there was also Volvo exhibition going on and they are throwing RM15k discount for v40 and s60 this month. On top of that, they give larger rim free and 5 years warranty with 5 years free service unlimited mileage. I was tempted.

The S60 has kinda has a low roofline. If you're tall you're not gonna fit. Conti maintenance gonna be more expensive but you'd probably be getting the best safety you can get apparently.

But you're not gonna go wrong with the Mazzer la!

Everything fits in the Camry, sat in the back several times.
1)Sedan,
2)big boot,
3)very comfortable that it's scary to corner,
4)2.0 148hp, 196nm,
5)Legroom is goooooood,
6)Bonus for u then, resale is good.
7)Maintenance is like normal cars, just refer to the manual book
and see which one u need next time, SC will charge you something you don't need.
8)Price, 160k FULL SPEC, not 2.5 though.

Another option would be Kia Optima K5.
The 2.0 is 20hp more than the Toyota. Styling is way way more stylish.

Camry uses 16inch (2.0 version), Optima uses 18inch.
Tyre price will kill you.

Referrence. If i were you, I would look into K5. Don't mainstream okay?

But the cerato 2.0L seems faster than my 1.8 Jetta wor...maybe new Jetta 2.0 dual vvti is faster than cerato la

You are right. I booked the 2.0 version. Although I do noticed that most of you guys here recommended that I take the other one, I feel that the 2.0 should be enough for me. Road tax alone can kill me. Don't really need the extra power. Size wise, its the same and I can save 30k from that. My only issue here is I haven't test drive the car yet and planning to do it this weekend. If I feel that something is off, I will cancel my booking. Hopefully it will not come to that.

Ya, u just need a comfortable and reliable car for the family. But then on that day, no harm to test drive both 2.0L and 2.5L just to make sure your choice will be a worthy one with no regrets at the end of the day. So, just test drive since u already decided to buy Mazda 6. :driver:

Sakit kecantikan.

Beauty is pain. The only pain that I am willing to take is the monthly installment. Hence the reason not to buy KIA.

It is pretty. Thats why i am willing to fork out a bit more. The prettiest among the 3 cars. Nissan and toyota have proved that they are a reliable brands whilst mazda is still relatively new. So im taking a bit of risk there. But damn nice to look at. Meanwhile, for KIA, some of you here told me that parts are expensive and service is very poor. But design is nice if you ask me.

Seems faster but is it really faster?

as under-spec a toyota is... their vvti engine is no joke when it comes to real usable power...
wont win any drag race or high-speed race but it is more then enough for town driving and yet return reasonable fuel consumption...

madza 2.0 is a good buy... u wont feel it as under-powered as that bimbo car...

JDMs will always be JDMs. It will not let you down totally somehow...well except for their designs lately

Vios is a let down for us but not really for those who just want a car to drive...

Toyota is neither Moving Forward or Moving Backwards...they are Stationary. Afraid to jump out from the comfort zone.

I'm going to sound like a broken record but the Mazda 6 with the Skyactiv IS really new generation stuff. It has higher compression than Altezza 3S-GE BEAMS Yamaha tuned dual VVT-i! 14:1 vs 11.5:1.

Torque on the Mazda 6 2.0L Skyactiv-G is 210nM @ 4000rpm.. versus the Altezza 3SGE BEAMS 216nM @ 6000rpm.

Of course, hp is low on Mazda 6, but for city driving and passenger car, torque is more important than HP. Altezza is a sports sedan. Man, really really really advanced!

Totally agree. That one @6000rpm weh. How to drive.

Its ok. Im going to use the car for long distance travel only. For daily commute to work, i use my wife's car, her beloved myvi. Good enough, i suppose.
