BOT (Bolt On Turbo)

its from hks. here are the specs copied from hksusa.com

HKS GT2510 - 300 PS Output

COMPRESSOR:
-Wheel- 63 Trim - 47.7 Inducer / 60.1 Major
-Housing- 60 Inlet / 50 Outlet - 0.60 A/R
TURBINE:
-Wheel- 62 Trim - 53.0 Major / 41.7 Exducer
-Housing- GT25 inlet / Internal GT25 oulet - 0.64 A/R

Planning to get one (order from japan is less than 2k for a used unit) and put in my suzuki m16a. I want to play low boost 0.5-0.6bar due to my 11.1:1 compression ratio. may i know how much does a brand new gt2560R cost? hks has gt2540 too.. what engine are you running now? btw, thanks for the reply. please advice.

This is no much difference from GT2560R. Used to be called T28(oem turbo for Silvia S14 n S15), made some changes on the fins angle n bearing and called GT2560R. Which can be bought at ard RM1200 from Halfcut.

4G92 is my engine.

Thank you very much. I think I found the right turbocharger then. Thank you!

no la... im getting used units from japanese websites... from what half cut did you get the gt2560r? silvia? is using halfcut turbos safe?

Yeah. It's take from late S14 or early S15. The later version used bush bearing. But still damn efficient.
First of all, u must accept that there's no warranty for turbo even if u buy new. So far, i've seen 90% of the turbo taken from halfcut are usable and in good condition. But be really careful with the oil pressure... If the ball bearing turbo is exposed with too high oil pressure, it might penetrate the oil seal can causes damage to the turbo.

hey guys...

ecu 0450 + MAF code 449 = engine light on all the way during driving

Any idea?? or need to use MAF code 455?

TQ

Hello all,

Just wondering, whats the current market price for BOT for those that are not plug and play..

I was quoted for RM6k to RM7k for the items listed below:-
- Custom intake manifold,
- Garrett T3 (RECOND)
- Stainless steel pipings, with all silicon connector hose
- Custome Intercooler

To me its freaking expensive... I've got to get my own injectors, map sensor n metal head gasket. Does the price for stainless steel hiked up recently?

btw...is it custom intake manifold or custom exhaust manifold????

-if it was intake manifold no need custom la..use stock intake enough already...

-and custom intercooler no need la......there's plenty of 2ndhand wide variety of intercooler size to choose at halfcut....why go custom since u can get cheaper similiar capacity intercooler???

Speedhorizon,
Can you share with me what is the estimated budget if i wana BOT my 4G91.. All the parts necessary and the safe boost..Seeing that you are using a 92 engine..Not that far difference in terms of parts etc..

I don't know how hard mitsu engine are... But the rule of thumb is if you want to boost, do not overbore. If want to overbore, do not boost. Unless u stroke it.

change to 4G93 block. Save the hassle... If 1.8 is your aim, then no point stroking the 4G92 block. Bore up the entire cylinder wall also can't achieve 1.8L...

The stroke is too short to increase much capacity per mm of bore.

Turbocharging is not so hard on a 92. But what kind of power are you aiming at..? And what kind of reliability are you hoping for...?

but then increased to 1.8 may be due to stroke or am I mistaken?
well, if not to set aside 1.8 and 1.6 turbo do you like better to do? I want to do it with minimal cost and remove the 200hp + is real? another idea was to put a stock piston with a VR-4, they seem the same size as my 4g92?)
vsetaki or better to make 1.8?
but the car I'm doing every day on this I want to keep it quite economical!

Bro...

U want to hit 200 hp? Forget good fc k? Good power, Good fc, and good torque can exist in the same equation, but there is a compromise. Stick with 1.6 L. I would say 160hp is a nice figure and balance for torque and good fc. No problem to reach 200hp as long as got $$. But pushing a 1.6L/1.8L engine that far, you won't get good FC.

Put it this way... TORQUE, POWER (HIGH REV), GOOD FC. Choose 2 out of the 3.
