as for me i prefer to do full overhaul from engine to gearbox.

during overhaul u'll see which is good n which need to replace.

this is the best way to tackle issues on 2nd hand car.

but ofcoz money is the main factor ...

hi all, I am new here.
I own AE111 and problem is same. 1 liter for 5-6km only in city and 10-11 for mix city and hw.
The colour of sparkplug is light brown and dry. i was told it is indicating good burning.
but where did the excessive fuel go?

Check your ECU!
It just take less than 30min and you need not pay anything for it.
Yes Boss!!! I need to wait for the weekend!

Hey Levin818... Is there any risk of taking the ECU out? I'm afraid if I damage any sensitive components... then my car no need use dy... And I need to figure out how to access it as it is sort of behind the dashboard... Where do I start unscrewing... haha...

And... Actually my speedo is wrong... It is faster by about 20km/h. Could this possibly affect the mileage counter thus making it give the wrong reading?

OMG... I just tried... SO damn hard... I tried removing a bit of the dashboard so that I can acccess easier but it is so hard and so many complicated wiring... So I fixed it back and tried just to take the ECU out... But the screw is so tight as if it is welded there already... WAlau... I think I take to the shop and ask them to remove la...

Hi Veloc,
Its better to ask your mech's help to remove the ECU. They use to those screws and nuts stuff!
After removed the ECU, take necessary precaution as what i have mentioned in the earlier page.
If you want to send your ECU for repair, make sure the repairer give warranty on his work done. If he don't, don't let him handle! Simply because he do not know exactly what he is doing and might ended up damage your ECU!

Good luck bro!

last time my trueno AE101 with 20v black top engine, can run 420-440km for RM 80...
my celica with 3sfe can run 480km-500km(city) for full tank about 48 liter..

so i think 330km is expensive for 4afe...better check the setting...

Hi morning all,

My fc has been very bad since recently for about 2 months+ . Previously it was able to go rm50 for 320km+ . Now it become rm50 200km onli. I check on many thing but still same.

However, i read some thread similar to my case, and some claim after change the "centre box/midbox" then their fc back to normal.
I just wonder is the midbox really affect fc that much ?

Im pretty confuse...
