I just installed a centre bullet for my exhaust system. The guy at the shop said in order to extract n feel more power I need to change my stock muffler too. Is this true? Btw, if I want to modify my air intake system to open port type the guy said it is gonna cost around rm400. Is this a reasonable price?

yeah...it's true. u might wan2 consider changing the extractor to a 4-2-1 or 4-1 also. open pot filter will cost about that amount. try KnN filter...most ppl ar using that

me use 4-1 but i really wished i bought 4-2-1 last time...
do u regretted using 4-1?? im using 4-1 rite from what i can see... if u rev your rpm.. past 4k... the power is sweet man... :) but the low end suffer a lil bit and the fuel consumption can be quite high sumtimes if u whack your here and there often

erm last time stock standard my gti can reach to 500km now after using 4-1,r3 stage2 cam, hotbits exhaust the most i can get is around 470km.... but again im satisfied with the power that i gain... in future maybe i want to try 4-2-1 they say this setup is for pickup while 4-1 is top end...

imo, if u have to rev quite high with the open pod to feel the power. at low revs, at best it performs like stock only or probably worse.

markii,

i'll keep that in mind. thanks for the info. but if i didn't do the open port air intake and just do the exhaust i'll gain some power too rite?

of course...maybe u can try drop-in instead of open pod. but kuching air filters i dont know why so expensive even for chapalang. last time i saw sty selling apexi open pod for 300...just the head. and then still need to buy adapter and pipe. try 4-2-1 and s flow muffler

since u r using tiara...i guess its hard for u to get aftermarket extractor...

maybe piping + rear sports muffler is good enuf with a better flow air filter system.

u may get urself an used open port filter. 3inch knn will be great . adaptor u can customize it

weber and good fuel consumption just don't get well together.. sorry..

40% of the time i'm stuck in traffic jam
30% of the time traffic's moving, but just at a slow steady legal speed
20% of the time i have passenger in my car, mostly my parents or my grandpa, can't rev high.
5% of the time petrol is low and i haven't get any salary (if i got work) or just basically low on money
and only 5% of the time when i can really use the power and rev all the way.

no thanks.. i wished i'd got myself a 4-2-1

4-2-1 is for low to mid range power, while 4-1 mainly for top end.for street use,i think 4-2-1 is a lot better for everyday use.better acceleration n overtaking.just remember to chose a mandrel bent extractor.that is the ost important part in choosing an extractor.

oic.. thanks for the info GT_AUTO. Btw, which is better? S flow muffler or straight flow? The exhaust shop guy told me that you won't get into trouble with police if you install S flow because S flow mufflers looks exactly like stock mufflers, while straight flow will get you into trouble during roadblocks..which one to take? S flow less power.. compared to straight flow..but straight flow is very noisy..

I believe 4-2-1 is for top end whereas 4-1 is for better accerelation? Not the other way round !!

gsr06,u can ask anybody in here or surf in the net for answer.i know this extractor thing since 10 year's ago.take production car for an example.most of the car come equiped with 4-2-1 extractor.most of this car need low to mid range pull for everyday use.top end is useless unless ur in a highway.that's y most of the japanese tuner make 4-2-1 extractor.take another example,b16b n b18c5.y b16 come with 4-2-1 whereas b18c5 come's with 4-1?the diff between this 2 engine is the cc.bigger cc produce more torque so that's mean b18c5 is already got a good low to mid power, that's y they look for top end to balance it out.correct me if i'm wrong.

the exhaust shop tell u that most probably because he wants u to get the s flow which cost more...hehhe...anyways, most s flow muffler now look like straight flow from the outside. but i guess s flow will be safer during roadblocks because it is not noisy even during idling. in fact no noise during idling. just make sure u dont get the one with the super big tip. actually, if polis got nbtd, they will also stop u for putting s flow. they did stop me once...i was like wtf?but settled the normal way la:)..sflow is usually for normal driving(low and mid range). for straight flow u will have to rev quite a bit for the power to come out. for me im using bullet+sflow muffler and it gives me good power all the way.

I just wanna ask anyone out there who know how to homemake carbon fiber bodykits or hoods.I am interested in making them myself, but i doesn't know what is the right stuff and chemical and how to mix them together and also what is the correct step. And where to get the materials and chemicals like kelvar and etc.....

Anyone can advise me on that?
