4-2-1 is for low to mid range power, while 4-1 mainly for top end.for street use,i think 4-2-1 is a lot better for everyday use.better acceleration n overtaking.just remember to chose a mandrel bent extractor.that is the ost important part in choosing an extractor.

oic.. thanks for the info GT_AUTO. Btw, which is better? S flow muffler or straight flow? The exhaust shop guy told me that you won't get into trouble with police if you install S flow because S flow mufflers looks exactly like stock mufflers, while straight flow will get you into trouble during roadblocks..which one to take? S flow less power.. compared to straight flow..but straight flow is very noisy..

I believe 4-2-1 is for top end whereas 4-1 is for better accerelation? Not the other way round !!

gsr06,u can ask anybody in here or surf in the net for answer.i know this extractor thing since 10 year's ago.take production car for an example.most of the car come equiped with 4-2-1 extractor.most of this car need low to mid range pull for everyday use.top end is useless unless ur in a highway.that's y most of the japanese tuner make 4-2-1 extractor.take another example,b16b n b18c5.y b16 come with 4-2-1 whereas b18c5 come's with 4-1?the diff between this 2 engine is the cc.bigger cc produce more torque so that's mean b18c5 is already got a good low to mid power, that's y they look for top end to balance it out.correct me if i'm wrong.

the exhaust shop tell u that most probably because he wants u to get the s flow which cost more...hehhe...anyways, most s flow muffler now look like straight flow from the outside. but i guess s flow will be safer during roadblocks because it is not noisy even during idling. in fact no noise during idling. just make sure u dont get the one with the super big tip. actually, if polis got nbtd, they will also stop u for putting s flow. they did stop me once...i was like wtf?but settled the normal way la:)..sflow is usually for normal driving(low and mid range). for straight flow u will have to rev quite a bit for the power to come out. for me im using bullet+sflow muffler and it gives me good power all the way.

slower.. took me more time to go from A to B because you know kuching's road all potholes, now i have to slow down for each and everyone of them instead of ram through it like last time.

or else my bone is going to shatter.

Tri-Y vs. Shortie vs. 4 into 1- The Tri-Y design is for building maximum horsepower and torque in the idle to 4500-RPM range. They work well in motor homes and pickup trucks that need more pulling and passing power as well as street vehicles with stock to mildly modified engines.
The 4 into 1 or long tube style header are built to maximize the engine output in the mid to high RPM. This header will have larger individual primary tubes flowing into a single collector. You will find this header on high performance streetcars or at the drag strip.

Our Headers are offered with either 4 into 1 Merge collectors, for maximum power potential throughout the full RPM range, or 4-2-1 Tri Y collectors, for maximum low to midrange torque.

Am new to car modding even though I have my Kancil for nearly 6 years. After a full sound system installation, now I'm venturing into some modding, exhaust, engine etc.

I was just wondering about the exhaust recycling mechanism for my 850 auto Kancil with a carb. There's this output from the extractor which goes into a piping and then goes into a small device beside the engine which then outputs the air back into the air filter box.

One thing, if I change my extractor, the new extractor won't have this output and this 'exhaust recycling' device won't have any use anymore.

So, if I remove that device, what difference would it make?

erm, s flow is not that noisy. its very quiet esp during idling. even better than stock's sound. only during gear changes and when u rev it then u wud hear a little rough sound. other than that its very quiet. i've been using hotbits s flow muffler and its very quiet..even better than stock and my fuel economy has been improved. one question, is it necessary to fix bullet? what difference would it make?

A bullet is to reduce noise.

Those grooved innerwalls gives some back pressure to help N/A engine for pick up.

Go for mendrel-bent pipes, they do wonders..... :)
