I think it depends on the bitrate as well and how much was it compressed from the original compression.
Someone may use a 24bit cd audio and compress it into 128kbps mp3 then burn it then compress it again as 512kbps then of course the quality won't be there

but if you use a 24bit cd audio and compress it into 512kbps the the compression is less so the quality won't be as bad as the earlier.

As for wma its about the same thing. It depends how the compression is like.
Of course I'd prefer the 24bit audio cd. hehehehe

Thong : why la use WMA or MP3? Go for 24-bit gold CDs! :D Anyway, like what the dude said, the higher the bit rate the better. Don't use variable bit rates btw, they suck big time. Also WMA sucks crap, max is 192 and that's LOW la!! I usually burn my stuff at 256 at LEAST.

LOL
i compile mine at 512
heheehhee
But for sq test i use 24bit gold disc
price can get good bargain if know where to find ma
hehehehee
also slightly more expensive than those normal cds.
I tested the same song
one normal one imported 24bit
whoaaaaaaaa
the details and the clarity can tell the difference.
:P

Where to get?

How much would the 24k bit CDs cost and where can I find it?

depends what cd are you getting
imported 24bit or local 24 bit
i always go for imported version so its slightly expensive
just hear both cds of the same song
you'll tell the difference
hehehe

where you from?
the price could be as low as RM30-RM100
might even be more than RM100

whattt? a blank cd can cost that much??? gilaa laa.. cant afford them man...

thoninho : nola.. he was talking about 24-bit burnt CDs that are released in the market with SONGS la. if you want blank cd's I personally prefer the black ones, non-scratchable. :D about rm1.20 a piece

eh, i think i have seen before... no wonder laa so many dudes at kf audio bringin it around... same design, same colour summore... ahahahhaha... can buy from any comp shop right? so izso when u coming down to pj again? lemme listen to ur setup laa.. :)

i prefer audio cds than a mp3. their sounds sucs.maybe becouse i dont change the bitrate.but the quality of mp3 is totaly diffent than a audio cds.

me too...i prefer audio cds...but i really hate changing cd's...cos im the kind of guy who likes to change music half way...unless the song is really good and im in the mood...then listen all the way...hokhookhkohkoh....

totally agreed with EAGTE, finally first time play mp3 in my HU today...damn even was at 320Kpbs sound worst then a cassette !! Maybe my HU too good ? Hehehe...but frankly they don't sound nice at all

Hi

agree with u bro rodneyk, its the mitsu one.

I think the best is audio cds. especially xrcd kekeke.

oh its mitsu
heheheeh
but most of the time i don't burn anymore
i buy imported 24bits only unless i really want the cd then i have no choice but to settle for a normal imported disc.

why i go for imported and not following our national guideline "gunalah buatan malaysia"? Well if you compare domestic and imported then you'll tell the difference.

izso...what is the cdr u're talking....black n non-scratchable

black one la. the one u using I think is the same one. Not really non-scratchable, it's just more scratch resistant compared to normal CD

yah.. it's scratch resistant rite? I dunno if its melody black or not.. the one I saw was scratch resistant.. not proof.. so harder to scratch.
