ICE for Waja Enhanced Version

Hello friends,

I'm about to purchase the Waja Enhanced Version soon but I'm not too keen with the pre installed ICE. Since I'm looking forward to have head unit which is capable of playing Mp3 & WMA, I dont think the pre installed player is capable of playing any of its type. Therefore I'm seeking for the ICE Pro's advice on which HU is the best to purchase with a good affordable price and a one that is capable of playing Mp3 & WMA (WMA not necessary). But doesnt matter about the bass as long as the sound is crystal clear. Myself prefer a good sound quality than the bass kick. Another question is that, is the Waja pre installed HU which is a double din could be removed and be replaced with a single din player ? Those are my doubt, so its better to keep things cleared with the advice and recommendation of the PRO's.

Another thing is that could you guys recommend me good speakers which is known for good and clear sound quality ?
Hoping for recommendation and advice from all the PRO's of ICE. Thanking in advance

Waja original is 5.5: in the font but you can fit a " speaker without any problems.

Dependign on your budget, there are quite a number of speakers that you can buy.

Set a budget first so its easier to advise you accordingly.

I'm looking to spend RM 2000 at most for a complete ICE setup including the likes of head unit, amplifiers, speakers and woofer. Please advice accordingly...

mmm, 2k with a HU.. JKinda hard to do it with a HU... Hu alone would be about 600-700 for a PIonner 5650 model or 5750 etc... can play MP3. There is a 2nd hand Clarion DXZ-725 for sale but that doesnt have MP3 but will be a good Hu for starting off (RM500)

Speakers, Budget Rm500 for a set for the front. Can get a set of Helix Blue or the MB Quartz DSD-216. those are abt 400+ so gives u more budget for other stuff.

Amp - Can't be more than 500.

Sub - Better be cheap, 200 or so...

Installation will be about 200 on average. May be more with sub box.

Best to go look around the Buy/Sell section for stuff.

Waja is a single DIN hu.. the face is dbl din to con ppl...

If you are planning to go far with ICE, I would recommend using the stock HU for now, get a good amp and speakers for a start. If can add the U.. later on add a sub.

you need to modify the waja front speaker casing to get the maximum output from the speaker (especially if you install 6.5").. waja door has a plastic cover that block some air for you speaker to breath).. thats what the ice people told me..

Rm2000 ah, you can buy
a PIonner 5750 as it has 3 pre-out and will cost around 700-750.
Front speaker as per Bert around 500 or unless you want to buy from Lelong, if from Lelong, you can try Rockford Fosgate component is around 300-350.
Sub- you want a strong one or soft one? If strong one you can try RDS sub 12' (1 only)and box will cost you around 550.
Pre-amp is not important if you buy Pionner 5750 so you can save abit on your ICE setup.
Amp, if you are using sub, then you have to buy 2 amps already, 1 for mid and 1 for sub. If using RDS sub means you have to buy atleast 300watt RMS amp. Now I using LA amp(B300.2) to push it.
You can try to bid this amp, I also using it now, not bad.

make sure u never disconnect the battery. or else u will need to send to retune the ECU. this will cost u about rm100.
