Wheel spacer : pros n cons?

Good Day Dear ZTHians,

I just wanna know about the pros n cons of wheel spacer..

Pros : look nicer (this 1 i know )

Cons : does it affect handling? more stable?

thinking of putting it on my AE101 Levin rear tyres only..

other option : different rim offset for front n rear..

Used in my ol' Sentra, a think 8mm spacer to the rear just so that visually, look more balanced with the front.

Pros - Like you have said, look nicer

Cons - Even with 8mm thk only, the lug nuts barely have enough to 'bite' on to the bolts (around 5 ~ 6 rounds only). Have to in turn source for longer bolts

Since mine only 8mm thk, not much feel on the handling part

my experience, wheel spacer at rear wheel is no problem. but putting it at front wheel might affect the steering feel during hard braking. u would felt the abit shaking during hard braking.

Not only just shaking during hard braking, if poorly made, it'll cause unrectifiable wobbling at speed.

ive used the 8mm ones bought rm8 from spare part shop without centre cone for my rear wheels luckily no wobbling watsoever.

There's a type of spacer that has the lugs engineered into it. Meaning you bolt the spacer onto your hub using your hub lugs and the spacer itself will have a long lug as well so you can have plenty of space to bolt down the rims.

The issue with this is the engineering has to be perfect and the ones that I've seen are really not cheap.

Lastly why do you want such crazy offset? JPJ kacau la.

the customs spacers with the lugs is either a pcd converter with or spacer diameter more than 1"

i'm using 2pcs of spacer in total of 17-18mm thickness...

back then using long stud also barely have a few mm of nut thread to lock..but never encountered wheels tercabut so far....just have to manually tighten the nut using hand tools...strictly no air wrench...


but now all 4 hub already replaced the studs with even longer one....another worries goes away....but seems like later i need to do on-wheel balancing....felt slight vibration around 80-90km/h...

Not crazy offset la.. My rear tyres sits about 1 inch inside d body n it doesn't look nice..

yeah...it cost about rm600 for 1 inch thick ..rm600 for 4 spacers with bolt

Wow, really pain.
Why not just buy a new set of rims with better offsets?

i just look in the mudah web...this guy who work in melaka and live in batu pahat..he working in a engineering shop..the spacers that he sell to me is a brand new spacers..comes with the bolt and u can ask them to make 4 hole into 5 hole spacers..100 pcd into 114 pcd

Why not just buy a new set of rims with better offsets?

as usually if my wife find somthin new at my car,she will nagging how i just spend money carelessly
