u said your engine blew, surelah your car not fast!! pls explain to me how can your car perform if there is something broken in your engine? did u find out what was broken? i have the impression that your pistons are either broken or crack and u have worn bearings? when eric was building your engine, were you around to see how eric assembled your engine? as far as i know eric and the scenerio, no engine builder would install broken pistions into engine. Now why did your piston break? Was it because of piston to valve clearance? What camshaft did you install? was it recommended by eric or was it the choice of yourself? Did the valve touched the piston at any occasion? the pistons will NOT break by itself! as for your bearings, did you find out the cause for the worn bearings? if you can confidentlly say that your engine is not fast, espeacially in the running-in period, then i too can confidently say that you've been revving your engine during running in, hence that explains the worn bearing!!!
As for your friend's car, how did you know it is not fast? did your friend make the complaint or are you complaining for him? Though eric and ah siong are not legally partners in the business but they sure as hell can work together, which makes them outstanding!! i personally have seen them work together and it was worth the watch!
Eric has done respectable engine jobs for a number of people and if you can judge eric by the way he build engines, then u dont know what u are talking about. take for example, you said eric is lousy, why? because your car is not fast. Why is it not fast? because something broke inside. Why did something break inside? that alone my friend, you have to answer. building an engine is not just putting everything together and start revving it. there is more to it than meets the eye and u should be thankful to eric and ah siong for their determination, effort and hard work.
