upgrade brake caliper

Just bought a 1987 KE TX3 base model 1.6 that has been converted to B8 engine. The front brake discs and calipers are of B8 but the problem is.....The 2nd (below) nut hole on my BF absorbers is a bit short hence had to modify making the existing hole longer.

Now.....Camber n alignment okay - can be done but whenever drive 100kmh/on unstable road/ran through pot holes...the car will swerve!

Anyone using same model as mine.....any suggestions?

Do i have to revert back to the original discs?

Would appreciate a lot on any proven suggestions as i've spent quite a fortune trying out different approaches n kept on wasting my money in the process

you're right...i've been thinking about that too. anyway, i've found BF knuckles n gonna try to fix it to the B8 brake pads n see what happens.

when i press the brake pedal, my steering shake. anyone experience this problem? is it my disc wear and tear or out of shape?

Can i just change the disc and use back the original lynx caliper?
anyone know how much is the lantis rear disc brake?

regards

Zenspeed.. i've encountered it before.. i believe when you change your brake pad, you didnt skim your disk, rite ? after i've skimmed my disk (normally rm30 per piece at any tyre shop).. no more shaking! :( all the best dude..

i skim already but still like that.
my foreman said should replace the disc. anyway thanks

IN actual fact any brake can fit, the main issue is the fabrication work and finding the right offset rims to fit...

Basically you will need to fabricate the mounting brackets for the calipers and machining work needs to be done to mount the disc onto the knuckle and bearing set-up...

The whole job would cost you a fair bit of money, would be easier to mount brakes from the same make...

BTW what car are you driving now ???

Maybe the RX-7 brakes would be a better bet...

CHEERS

I used rx7 fc sumitomo 4 pot calipers on my 95 lynx before.. i had to put spacers for my rims. No problems...xcept i had to spend more money for brake pads.

been reading this thread and i feel like upgrading my brakes. as far as i'm concern, the best upgrade is to use lantis v6 brakes.
and how about the fittings and cost. can anyone help me ?

thanks
