hi all,

i'm a noob here abt engines and cars.. can you help me?

i wanna buy an accord (budget : rm20K ++) , but now very confuse which one is good?
i'm confuse abt :

1. what engines is for accord 2.0? (eg : http://www.mudah.my/Honda-Accord-2.0-Automatic-4552925.htm )

2. h22a , how is the fuel consumption?

3. how much is maintenance (service) for an accord ?

thanks for yr reply..

1.what engine? search wikipedia for the list of honda engine...i think the engine (on mudah)is 2.0 SOHC non vtec...

2. H22A will have a standard inline four 2.2 liter fuel consumption...better FC than 2.6 or 3.0 liter... and worst than 1.8 and 1.6...but newer engine nowdays have better efficiency...also, fc depends on controlling your right foot...

3. this is your first time buying a car is it?standard service is just like servicing kancil's and wira's...just buy engine oil, oil filter, new plug if necessary...less than 130 if using semi synt oil..and below rm100 if just using mineral base oil...

for rm20k for accord.. i think you can get a sm4 models for that price.. withH22A it has good performance with that chasis

h22a engine is very good and a lot of custom method to mod it....

thanks for your replies..

okay, i did few surveys and seems that 20k budget cannot get an sv4, but only sm4 (and too old, isn't it?)

so, let's say i decided to fork out few extra budget just to get h22a and sv4...
for a full tank, normally how far can go? (in city and hways) ..anyone with experience mind to share that with me?

I owned a SV with H22A inside..

Frankly speaking, don't think about petrol(or put it as priority) if power you're seeking for.
RM50 can get 200km or more.. that's my benchmark for RM50 of petrol.

Parts are hard to get for this engine, even in the USA they customize most of the performance parts as they're not ready on the shelves. SM4 chassis are a bit lighter than SV4. But of cuz SV4 is much an eye candy compared to SM4.

If you can get any SV4 around 25K-ish standard uncle spec also can, cuz the HC for H22A is cheaper nowadays. My advise is if you're getting a SM4, go n get BB1/4 HC. If you're getting a SV4, go n get the CD6 HC. CD6 HC is a direct transplant to SV4, and you can use every single wiring and bolts from the HC. But bear in mind that CD6 HC comes as the lowest spec for H22A in terms of power compared to BB1/4. If you strike Da Ma Cai then can get the CL1/BB6 Type-S HC.

Spare aside around 1K just for the maintenance such as Beltings/new Lubricants/Air Cond Gas etc.. So far I haven't heard common problem for this engine, just minor wear n tear parts. Try to get the lowest mileage is possible and check for leaking. Happy Hunting! :driver:

my experience with sv4 accord 2.0 or 2.2, very high fuel consumption...

Well i consider lucky... coz i got a SV4 2.0 A 1995 end of this month (may),
1 uncle owner (my fren's uncle), only done 200K km,
Hardly used, good paint job (pearl white), accident free, town use only, he will buy me a new battery as free extra gift. Only RM18,000...the interior & exterior was so..so... new...!

Thats why when people tell me RM20,000 can only get SM4? NO, is depand on how hard u do hunting .. last month i saw on mudah thats 1 sv4 1995 tip top all standard, 2.0 M only RM21K. Sold with in 2 weeks...
Well, of cause is hard to get SV4 with 1 owner & tip top condition and below 20K..

I,m going to transplant H22A Manual from SV4 japan not prelude. the half cut cost RM5,800.
i ve standby with full PU skirting from Japan, twin exhaust, HID 10,000K (taiwan), car DVD entertainment system, sport absorber and semi racing clutch.

The only samething that i worries is the Fuel comsuption too.. think i need to hav more control for my right leg ... :burnout:

Ya..The half cut i bought is CD6 HC, milelage is 81K km..

i have 2 Accords with H22a

frankly speaking, the manual version is more fuel efficient. theoretically, an automatic torque convertor uses more energy (energy = fuel) to overcome the losses.

eventhough the manual H22a has 220PS stock, when driven sanely (which I seldom do) I can get a respectable FC figure. I've hit 300km with a RM50 fill up (around 28 litres) which equates to somewhere around 10.7 km/l

my auto H22a which has 200PS uses MORE fuel. I fill up with the same amount (28 litres) and I get a paltry 240km on a good week. And this car is driven at 7/10s most of the time. a 20 year old CB1 chassis cant be pushed as hard as a 10 year old CL1 chassis.

Hi,was curious to know about the F22B single cam Vtec model with manual tranny. Are they any good in terms of FC compared to the H22A twin cam model? Anyone here owns 1 with such motor on an SV4? i know power is just a bearable 145hp.I'm currently contemplating on getting an SV4 with such set up. Any advice? Thanks!!

H22A wins in terms of FC and HP.Just get a H22 and u'll feel satisfied with it. Don't regret by getting the underpowered machine. You must remember that SV4 weight is just too heavy..
