Hey Guys,
Whats goood on a Monday morning
last night i took d ride out and did some 'tekan gear kau kau'
i changed some clutch plates n etc recently and decided to push it.
I drove the car for about 45minutes and when i got home, it started to stink
bad like something was burning or very heated up..i smelled like brakes but 2 of my friends kept insisting its the clutch
the ride seemed normal today but i dnt know if its a problem on the way
previously i did not have this issue even 'tekan' on highway for a good 90minutes

is there bound to be trouble again after the changes, i changed to exedy clutch plate
and i remember the mechanic saying its for 1.6 but tadahal to fix it on 1.8 DOHC.
PLease advise my fellow experts..Thanks again

how old your clutch set already???if more than 2-3years then it might be the cause....just started to slip than usual abit maybe :adore:

u must identify where the burning smell is coming from, whether from the engine, brakes or inside...if inside its the clutch plate.....

hey bro, its barely 3 months since i had it changed....
when u mean inside , u mean inside the car?
the smell most likely was outside from the engine bay but i was riding with windows down
owhh damn what part of the engine could it then?

i also experienced last weekend when i went up genting, boosting all the way,
when i reached the top to wait for my in laws, i popped my bonnet & there was burning smell as well, suspected was the clutch....but after a couple of minutes no more smell.

u using heavy duty (std) or racing clutch set? fyi, im using std ones...therefore there could
be slippage earlier while i was heading up genting.

hey bro, came across this article : Clutch Diagnosis & Repair
it mentions of an issue probably with the flywheel, release cable, defective or worn clutch pedal bushings or brackets etc
I have changed the pressure plate , and disc, and the the bearing,
quite a heavy jerk when i release the clutch while engaged 1st gear and reverse...
guess i got to head back to the work shop again....(:

if burning and smell like rubber smell, it might be yr clutch plate start to give way....u should change to semi racing or racing clutch for u to "tekan" maximum
