Suspension setup question...

xbalance2002,
The price range of TEIN, I looking around Street Flex segment.
Find tune of the suspension seem out of my capabilities/knowledge.

I spoke with respected tuner in suspension/corner weight (Ohlin etc) last few weeks.
According to him, people could buy the Ohlin/high-end product but not an easy to find tune it.
So, I look into myself... seem I did not using for track/racing even bad skill driver.
Then no point to spend like crazy on such thing I don't use.
Even sometimes I really like to taste what is Ohlin about....
Furthermore, each suspension having their lifetime limits and need to re-service in period of time.
Local manufacture seems OK but their service interval period kinda knock me off.
Then installation can only be done by them (mostly)...

Hopefully could get some input regarding this matter from other owner.
TEIN Super Street no longer in production so its no longer relevant.

Look forward something on the shelf product...
Custom product is good if you live nearby the shop/manufacture.

From your requirements, just get the tein street flex and be done with it. at least it is something that works out of the box. when needed, tein is rebuildable you can get it serviced by a local tein dealer or other reputable workshop.

Or minimal hassle route
Bilstein B8 damper + Swift Spec R lowering spring/gtworx spring/robispec spring
No need to set and will last long time

EVOFans,
Are you able to source the parts you mention in Malaysia?

Not cost effective from my point of view (shipping, currency, taxation, time etc)
After all calculation the price similar to OHLIN DFV that I could source in Malaysia.

Furthermore, your suggestion based on the Evolutionm website.
I would like to hear an input from local user any product would do...

from my personal point of view as an ex Tein Superstreet user on my Swift Sport. The coilover is too soft & bouncy no matter how many time i change the setting. handling on this coilover is nothing much to shout about & i regretted purchasing it not sure about Street Flex but in the other hand the mono flex is really good, you may consider it instead. Replaced it with much cheaper price BC Racing BR series & it perform much better & handle more sharp. just sharing my personal experience with the Super Street. cheers.

Slowboy,
I've read about Ohlin DFV review from several website.
I need an input from local user.
Also discuss about this Ohlin product with the expert person.
This product required proper installation with weight distribution.
Which is I can't source at my place.

Hahaha.... My good bro... After all the consideration and saying that you will let go of the Ohlins, and even acquiring Tein Monoflex, your heart is still not settled. Just get it!!!

Hi guys... sorry reviving the old thread.

I need an assistance to guide me getting the coilover.
At the moment, existing Bilstein probably to give way soon and need replacement.
Refurbishing the Bilstein seems out of the equation.
Getting 2nd/used parts also not very much into the account.
As the refurbishment/maintenance very much not practical in cost matters.

At the moment Tein Street Advance & Tein Street Flex seems caught my intention.
Since the Tein Super Street no longer in production, so left me with this choice only.

The car rarely driven but I will drive daily if I has a chance.
I look forward something comfortable but firms.

Anybody input very much appreciated.
I'm probably getting used shocks myself because Japanese shocks for my car don't really exist anymore. Just a question though, why'd you not get used ones?

issuzark,
Sourcing the used parts especially like OHLIN DFV seems impossible (locally).
Let say if you found the item, condition wise probably doesn't meet your satisfactory.
Refurbishment by local tech probably generate a doubt and very costly (approx. more then RM5) and time consume (more then a month).

Back then, I bought used suspension and very much disappointed the condition.
Its my fault coz bought the product just based on phone call and trust.

I'm probably looking for used Japanese HLSH, but the more I think of it, the more worried I get because there's no new ones, and not all are in good condition. Most probably need a good servicing, and I'm not sure about spare parts.
