Evo General : Evo I - X

If i recall correctly.. my mech only tap to the speed, nvr cut it off...
my tops so far 220km only..

Thanks guys, installed it yesterday, but havent try the top speed yet.

Also installed apexi turbo timer. Damn complicated to find the right wire for a/f. Although there's nothing to look at the value, the automatic timer does connected to the a/f. It will become automatic once the timer can read the a/f.

Guys i have a dilemma right now.

My front left bilstein absorber is making sounds. Dealer checked and said that the absorber shaft is not holding up tight if i understood it correctly. It is not dangerous just the gedegek gedegek sounds is annoying. No leaking or what so ever

They offer me to change to brand new super street m7 absorber set. What do u guys think? Just use the bilstein and live with the noise or get a brand new m7 set?

I came across reading a member with same problem with me, but forgot the nick and the thread.

Amy body have experience m7 absorber?

Go onto evolutionm.net suspension section and read
Stock Bilstein is very good already and that couple with a lowered spring(Swift,Robispec,Gtworx.com) is some of the best street setup you can find
The only reason to get coilover is you need the adjustability and you are good enough driver to utilize all the adjustment otherwise stick with Bilstein
BTW you can send your Bilstein for rebuild + revalve, not sure where in Malaysia can get that done through
If you want to get coilover, anything less then KW V3 or Ohlins or AST etc...Might as well as stick to stock Bilstein

greenmivec,

One of my friend (here) just replace his Bilstein to M7.
Received a good comment about it... for sure because it's new unit.
I will test his ride soon or whenever time permit.

Stock Bilstein are very good for my daily driving due to comfort & stability.

Have you read in other section, they discussing about Radical Chasiss Solution (RCS).
They seems providing building custom suspension... interested to know about it.

EVOFans,

There is no sevice center could refurbish Bilstein in Malaysia.
Only selling new unit... I wish to get a set of Bilstein PSS9 (New) but no idea until now.
KW can be source in S'pore... Ohlin need to order around 1 month.

I have great pleassure with my bilstein, dont know about other brand since never tried others yet. Wha i have read so far bilstein is a very good setup. With the eibach spring.

For my case i have to choose between new set absorber or older but with best setting bilstein. Sayang la want to change it.

Bro pangyau thanks for your concern, if the drving pleassure and stability is not much different i mit change it to new m7 set since m7 product is also not a cap ayam product. The quality and standard are high.

If SG,no Bilstein rebuild center also?

I'm sorry, no idea about that.
I tried to source the service centre for Bilstein before (M'sia & S'pore) but failed.
Sent an email to their website all no respond at all.

According to friend, nearest service center could be in Japan (don't know which area).
Then it would not be a cost effective for me.

I think it best to replace new unit rather than refurbish for Bilstein product.
I also try to source the new stock Bilstein... still no luck

European coilover more comfortable then japanese coilover usually:proud:
KW,Ohlins,AST,Bilstein etc all ride better then japanese coilover(Tein etc) because of the damping
But good thing no cheap

CT9A ECU (Evo8MR vs Evo9)

Hi guys,
Need your help. Are the sockets for the above ECU similar?
I unable to check it for time being & the info very much important for me.

Any picture very much appreciated if there is a different.
I need your guidance & thanks in advance.

Sockets are similar but pinouts are slightly different.

Kindly share which pin are different?
Let say, Haltech PNP ECU quoted able to use on E8MR & E9 (JDM).
If there is pins different, it could be any problem arise to detect any sensor?

friend, you need to swap a few pins. I have seen it being done before but the tuner dont want to tell me which pins. Also you can do a google search and you can easily find the pinout for the 8MR and 9 but I'm worried as those websites are mostly USDM info.

So still best is to check with the tuner/installer or the seller.

Good luck

AlucarD,

Yup..., agree to check with tuner/installer/seller.
At my place, the owner are required to get as much info as they can.
If not might end up in mess...everybody in learning progress.

Not much information could be obtain from Net.
Thanks bro...
