SMT6 - piggyback

Razaksa.... well, i am happy with oBit too. However, right now, seemed to have some issues when removing the unit. I thought of using the CAMCON VVTi controller, but in the process of removing the piggy back, my ecu somehow has real problems in closed loop operation. I am not pointing finger to anyone at this point of time, but I am investigating at the moment... dont get me wrong. I will still say that oBit has proven to me to overcome closed loop problems inherent in my current ride.

Btw.. me on Altezza now.. not 6MT but 5AT unfortunately.. which makes modding a real nightmare...

bro
u can't just remove the OBIT, it'll definitely cos u some problems..because of the sensors and other inter-related connections.a friend tried removing his OBIT, car can't start, put it back on and back to normal..

best you get someone experienced with the OBIT to help you...

Do you know that the oBit has an optional item called the bypass PCB or something. It cost like S$30 or so. You unplug the oBit and use this to plug in the harness meant for oBit. The wiring should be as good as stock. This is what the Japanese lady from Cartronic told me.

If you go to the website, they have a wiring diagram for the oBit and the pins responsible. I believe what that PCB does is just remapping the pins which comes from the sensors and redirect them into the pins that goes back to the ECU.

Technically, it is that simple. If not, she wont ask me to use the bypass PCB. Another possibility is that the wiring is not done correctly, however, i sent to 2 workshops and they verified that the sensors are going to and from the right points.... so... thats a little worrying.

So.. your friend resolved his problem dude?

i have that PCB to disable the obit, basically its a socket that can be plugged into the OBIT, should you wana switch it off. My tuner in JB gave it to me for free...

Yup, that is the one. Have you tried running your car without the oBit? Does it run in stock condition feel? Coz mine dont... i got check light turned on... . you might just wanna try this out....... make sure drive for 30-45mins and then see how. Sometimes it takes like 30min for the o2 sensors to warm up and the car be in closed loop. Sometimes, you may just notice misfirings and jerkiness... of course, I am saying all these coz I am experiencing it at the moment....

bro

Ive tried switching off the Obit before, but have to take off the battery terminals to let the ecu reset, then I got the stock feel...for my car NA no problems on/off the Obit but I think for yours since got Turbo better not..esp since i think the tuner used the OBIT to retard your ITC, sure if you off the Obit you get jerkiness and pre-ignition...very risky bro..

If you have new mods or want a re-tune I can recommend my Mech in JB, the Supercharged SGTI in Decembers Hypertune was his work, charges also reasonable compared to SG tuners...

Thanks dude, kind of you. I am planning to UPGRADE to the HKS F-Con SZ  Now waiting for the item and confirmation. I think that is a nice item, better than most piggy back and not as high end as stand-alones.

What you mentioned above are all correct. Fyi, I no longer have TC in my ride, removed it due to electronic problems... and I just dont have the time and patience to have the car towed in and out of workshops.. so, to me, forced induction is for those who can afford all those. Been down that track, i dont think I am going there again.. hehehee... But I am facing the jerkiness and pre-ignition (misfirings) which you mentioned when the oBit was tuned even for my NA car... so... my ECU is really screwed and unhappy. Anyways, I hope to have the F-Con soon and will sell off the oBit soon after. If you know anyone interested, let me know:regular_smile:
