Hello sifu's,

I have a question here. I was informed that removing balance shaft lightens the engine. No doubt the vibration increases but does the performance increase too ?

Is there any side effect ? Can we get the timing right or not ?

There is supposed to be 2 balance shafts ? can we remove both ?

Another question is regarding injectors. Instead of adding additional injectors can we use the RX7 injectors for 4G63T. What are the difference. RX7 is supposed to be 1.3 rotary but it's same as 2.6 right ? Can someone advice me. My manifold is turning red even though i increase my fuel pressure regulator to 3.5 bar. If it goes less - the same thing happens ! What should I do ?

1.) THe balance shaft is there for a purpose. If removed, the balance of the engine is severely affected unless you send the entire block with the reciprocating parts for machining and balancing. Thats gonna cost alot of Moola.

2.) Rather than making a wild guess, why not go for a dyno wide band 02 run. I'm not familiar with JB market but over here in KL, Dyno Wide band 02 run cost as little as RM100.

u can remove the balance shafts but as joeker said, u must do a complete engine balancing , if not gonna be screwed :D

rx7 one yes can be used 550cc injectors

red ah ? hehehehe mine oso red only after whacking :P
but just glowing lerr, go check wideband bro, mine is ok

yes, the balancer shafts there for a reason but not for the engine.. its for the driver/passenger confort... removed my balancer shaft long time ago, the only bad side effect is slight vibration below 3k rpm which after a few days very hard to notice anyway... the plus point is the engine is much much more responsive and rpm climbed much faster...

Thanks for your comment.

My engine had been balanced already by matspeed. I suppose that should not be a problem. My manifold turns read after whacking too. But sometimes even due to distant driving. The other day after travelling for about 30km - at an average speed the manifold already turned red. Can I solve this by adding injectors ?

As you mentioned - there was once when my car initially was tested - the RPM use to shoot damn fast. Very good response but now I think the fuel supply problem is making it heavy and not able to go !

What does wideband do ? Advice ? Anyhow will find out any places in JB - may be VIS Auto.

erm, all engines have balancer shaft?? where do we find it?? mine is a SOHC engine tho... ;)
