As for the above stated. im in the middle of dilema. just converted my EJ8 4door to B16B. Well of course engine are left standard. The only upgraded items are Full piping works up to a back muffler..still retain the original ek9's extractor (will opt for aftermarket extractor soon), simota guppy air ram.

After loads of searching i dont really get a good answer ..perhaps the forumers ere could help me out.As far as im concern the stock ecu are OBD2. :-P

Which should i go for? Rechip / emanage blue? hence : never intend to go touch any internals of the engine.

Pros and Cons for both. Please help guys. thanx :bawling:

aint go for both....but pro and cons... wider usage in future and so....which do u guys recomend. hope the tuners ere could help me out. thanx

rechip main useful purpose is 2 extend the rev, other tat mapping...tat emanage blue cant do..! but if u think rev cut at early rpm is not the issue, then u go for emanage blue is the best choice! u will feel better wif emange installed.! :driver:

meaning emanage cant change its mapping? or emanage only using its own basemap/default map?
rev cut i dunno bout it. but whats the original revcut for B16B then?

Pro & Cons are needed for both rechip and emanage

saw 1 PFC(Apexi POWER FC) for sale in "Market Place"..buy dat, sakit hati 1 time then can tune watever u want in future..hehehe

there is no need to raise the RPM limit as your valvetrain is stock. you won't get anymore power with higher RPM.

therefore for basic mods, e-manage blue is your best bet... you can tune your fuelling and ignition timing as your modification progress. (i.e air filter, exhaust and spark plugs) also, there is no problem if you were to revert back to just the stock ecu if your modification is taken out at one point.. the e-manage too can control your vtec point.. so happy modding!

IC. some told that both rechip + emanage to be done together. that makes me in dilema. troughout the progress... is the fuel regulator a must in a setup?

why would you want a re-chip and the e-manage at the same time?
fuel regulator is not a must for stock engines with stock injectors. minor mods for air filter and exhaust gud enough for basic power upgrade.

oh okies.....roughly with I/E/H mods what does the power figure or whp gain from a B16B?

Bro,the rechip majory is too extend the rev cut, althought your setting is standard, but for B16B still can go to 9000 rpm.
As the e-manage blue can tune you fuel mapping to more precise and meanwhile it also can adjust you ignition too,but unfortunately the e-manage can't do the rev cut,so i think this is why some would advise you to rechip and install e-manage.
As if you want to have both function in 1 piggyback, then i think the Unichip version Q plus can do that.It can do the rev cut, speed cut,VTEC control, launch control and also can do the fine tune at you fuel mapping. But it also would cost a lot for of coz....
Rechip won't gain more HP,piggyback with correct tune will increase about 5-8% of the HP.
But anyway, juz ask yourself, what is your budget ?And what actually you want ?
Rechip or piggyback ?
Happy modding.

Add Emanage first, then turbo charge.....more fun:driver:

maybe it's just me la... i dun see any helpful gains by raising the RPM limit if the camshaft is still stock. you will just damage your engine and or bearings for nothing. i see no value for money in re-chip + emanage combo. furthermore, i have seen many "copied" performance chip failed ... but of course it is up to personal taste.. if you like your stock B16A revving higher for nothing and have launch control.. thats up to the owner.

from my experience, stock manual tranny B16A airfuel ratio is quite accurate already... not much can be done if eveything stock.. maybe slightly better throttle responds and can play around abit with the vtec shift point.. i notice if the airfuel ratio is good, the torque responds is smooth when vtec engaged. also vtec sounds abit louder than usual. other vtec owners can share share too la.. especially those already have piggyback management. cheers!

I think rechip & e-manage r almost the same.already tried b4..but e-manage cant increase rev & launch control but rechip do have tis features & more...rechip just below 500 only wat plus get a obd1 converter harness if u wish to change back to stock ecu also can...

Chipping is re-tuning. Rev limit, vtec point, launch and etc function can be include to it. It have to be done on the dyno for precision tuning. Unless you use a copy chip, then that is out of question.

For your stock engine, don't expect dramatic increase in power but it should benefit some increment through the tuning.

Agrees with you. What is good to increase rev IF the engine did not improve it's engine respond ? (better torque in the low and mid).

Simple example, if you increase to 9000rpm and produce 140whp with the B16A or B16B (still not a 2000cc yet), no matter how your 6800rpm will still producing about 120whp (assuming), so bassically your engine respond dint increase, your 0-100kmh still the same, just that you can rev higher.

Unless you driving on a track and high revving all the time, if another car has lower whp compare to your car (after upgraded to 9000rpm) yet has better engine respond and improve torque, dont be surprise you will kena smoked kau-kau before you can rev until 9000rpm.

It would be better if you do some internal mod first and improve the torque, improve the engine respond and get Emanage Blue to fully utilize the mod you have done. Then learn to use all the power n improving your driving skills.

By then, only upgrade to 9000rpm after you understand what kind of power n potential your engine produce n harness them with your skills.....That wont be too late.

In fact in the process, you learn more about your car n improved your skills.

I donot drives or own a honda, but what I can share with you previously my SR20 n/a produces 158nm/wtq (wheel torque) at 48000rpm, after I port n polish with highcam and with the help of Emanage Blue, the early torque was 160nm/wtq at 3200rpm.....and peak torque was 172nm/wtq at 5500rpm.

Can u see the different between stock wheel torque 158nm/wtq at 4800rpm, and after Emanage Tuning and internal mod it become 160nm/wtq at 3200rpm.....

3200rpm and 4800rpm is a HUGE different. And with this alone, I have already smoke SR20VE (VVL Engine) in a tight short course, coz the SR20VE VVL canot even perform (unless using Emanage to activate the VVL to open as early as 4000rpm (1st stage) and 5500rpm (2nd stage).

Just remember, if your engine internal wasnt even upgrade, rechip n upgrade to 9000rpm, will not improve your engine respond, just a wider band to rev, it could help you 0-100kmh to perform better since 1st n 2nd gear can high rev, BUT thats all.....nothing much you can do.

guys,it's just a typo.leave it

i dun understand wat is "Respond"...??? issit the car got so-high torq is consider as "Respond"...??

then F1 car got no "respond" at all & the lap time won't improve coz just longer RPM range only loo.... F1 team is all sohai loo...???
