Hi guys, for those who had visited zth's for sale section, I have some questions that need your guys input.

Why can't we comment on seller's posted price? If we have bought items at lower price before or knew the average market value, why can't we post to and tell a piece of my mind ? Idea is to normalize the market price, not to over-priced it.
If seller has the right to post any price, then others have the right to post comment on its price, no ?

Thou I never commented others on their price, but sometimes I doubt why it's not etique to comment on it.

how would you like if everyone commented on how you mod your car,or how you dressed?it is your car and it is your style and its up to you what you wanna do with it....

yea.. i gave up commenting on the price.. but then again.. itz like typical Petaling Street sales... u go bargain more by comparing price.. u'll be cursed like mad..

it's their stuff....they have da right to sell at any price.....if it's overpriced....then surely no1 will buy......buyers have to survey da price...not us, dude.....

So basically it's a 1 way communication ? Take it or don't post comment ?

So it means seller had the upper hand when posting items for sale....
coz if this way it's not noobie friendly... people will have to 'gain' experience in order to perform a smart buy.

I thought freedom of post including this also, guess not. I'll not think this way anymore.

yah...so do more survey on da price b4 bought anything......

indeed... like ppl always said... if u dont like the thing.. just walk away... too expensive to your liking... walk away...

the proper way of 'Negotiating' is to private message the fella to offer your price...not by posting them in his thread stating that you can get them cheaper somewhere....but actually...the type of buyers that i hate the most is those who threw idiotic price...like asking RM200 for an item costing RM500...summore asking damn lansi like 'i pay you rm200 now cash, how wanna sell or not?'...they shud be stuffed back inside their mum's puss and stay there...

well its like goin to a flea market,
you see something u like but its expensive

its either u walk away and search somewhere else
OR
bargain..

i dont think you would just tell them "i can get it cheaper from somewhere else"
i doubt so.

its best to call straight or PM.
you can open another thread and ask what the norm price for that item..
this is afterall a forum..

Tibun,
I can see where you're coming from. It's something like if we don't voice out, there'll be no competition. But this issue is kinda vague. Seems like almost all the points posted by members have it's own validity.

This is a good discussion in my honest opinion.

I kinda agree that we should not stop people from commenting on the seller's price. However, it should not go to far to the extent you'll make the person lose the business altogether. You can put it in a nicer way like "I've seen that item selling cheaper at another place" or "Dude, you're overpaying for this product". This in my opinion will make sure buyers are a bit more aware instead of searching high and low for the same item at another place. I'd consider this like sharing infomation la. Of coz we don't want new buyers to be ripped off.

However, there's a limit to what you can 'help' the newer buyers. Don't say things like "I can sell to you this item for RM300 instead of RM500 from member X. Coz you're indirectly cutting off the business from member X and in the thread set up by him.

Actually in cases like these, there's no party that is 100% right. Only thing is to practice common sense and not oversay things that'll hurt the seller. Of coz you must also help the buyer so that he gets a good deal too.

Basically I see 3 types of traders here.

1. Good sellers/buyers who will trade goods for a reasonable price and quality.
2. Profiteers out to make a quick buck.
3. Bargain hunters.

I think forummers should be protected from profiteers by allowing comments on price. If the item is expensive, but the quality is high, I'd still think it's reasonable. It's just unreasonably priced items that attract bad press, and I think the seller fully deserves what he gets.

Sometimes, the seller genuinely does not know the market price of an item, and so it seems overpriced. However good sellers usually adjust their price after that, and such feedback is actually helpful.

Just my 30c increase in petrol price opinion.

See, I do think that many share the same idea...
Basically if you're a minority in the automotive player, and parts especially in halfcuts shops, items can be easily monopolized by certain party... and I don't see this as healthy, but no choice, as I said... minority...

well i have to disagree a little on it....especially on informing would be buyer that he/she is overpaying...to me...if i want to buy certain stuffs...i'll always make sure that ive research what's the market price like...and whether the item is rare or not...if it can be find easily...then sorry ler...its the seller's lost...but if it's rare...i cant complain to the seller to lower his/her price down to my budget...

the point is...the item is OWN by the seller...they have the right to set price of their liking...we as buyer also have the right to choose whether we want to buy it with that price asked, save up money and hope nobody else buys them or go look somewhere else...i understand that some of you felt that it is your right to inform others...but you are affecting other people's bowl of rice...now that's not right...its a simple do you or dont you...and if you happen to have the same item...please for crying out loud dont post on the same thread as the original poster's....that is extremely rude...instead...you too can open a thread and post yours there...a good and willing buyer will always search for the item...thats what the search button are for....page will load...showing all the posting of the specific item on sale...check on by one...see which one is in your budget...if it's slightly over your budget then go ahead...negotiate a slight lower price...but if your budget is RM200 over...then please go DIY your own :P

OK, time to DIY my own ball bearing turbocharger. I'll get those liquid paper balls....

I guess we can see from many sides, but courtesy is not to post on the similar thread to make it personal... that I would able to call it as professional a little. Other than that, we as buyer have every chance and oppurtunity to question the justification of the quoted price. My standing is this.

business is always win-win situation for both parties.
if u think expensive, then nego, if still expensive then dun buy,
u win---he lose
if u think the price is ok for u, u get wat u wan at the price u willin to pay n he got wat profit he wants.
u win---he wins
