I knew this was gonna happen someday... and it just did.

My power steering went kaputt (The P/S Light is on). Even before this, my powersteering comes on and off (without trigerring the P/S light). So my question is how much is it to get it fix, and what could be the possible cause?

Parking is a b*tch now.

Go MRS! :)

Have you checked fluids? :nurse:

Also, it could just be a bad connection between the car key and ignition... for this you need to turn the keys back and forth between the beginning and ACC a few times and finally starting car

Typical problem... can be fixed, like midship said chk all connections, relays... try stabbing the keys a few times and turning the ignition...

if really cannot, then ask the mech to make the power steering on FULL time with a switch where u can activate the p/s on or off.. i leave it full time on all the time though.

I've jabbed the ignition, turned it a so many times that my neighbour thinks I am giving a hand job to my car.

Still not working.

Gonna send it to the mech soon, and Ashburton's idea is pretty good... putting a switch for the p/s... quite like the way it feels without p/s sometimes... but like I said, parking's a real b*tch.

If you full time the power steering you'll lost the speed sensitive effect, but then again your power steering will work. Ask is very experience on this matter :-)

haha ya man,

its just a quick rm100.00 or less job..... do it quick... best rm100.00 i spent on my mr2

ooh.. rm100... where can i do it? I mean going to someone who has done it is better than sending it to my mech who may not know how to do it...

Gimme the add and location.

Thanks thanks thanks.

Parking is still a b*tch. But I have gained some muscles now.

u can do it at GT Auto or LKS workshop in sunway car workshop area...

LKS is the other end of the Continental Tyre/Alignment shop. Facing the sewage pool.

GT Auto is BEHIND LKS workshop.

Amazingly, this morning after refuelling, I switch on the ignition, and...

viola!

My power steering is working again!

Wonder when's the next time it's gonna get cranky again...
