Need suggestion on subwoofer

normally ppl will state sub A is spl sub and sub B is a sq sub or bla bla bla....... so, wats the difrent for a sq or spl sub ?? and, if i wan a sq setup but can blast whn i wan, which sub to choose then ??

if u want SQ sub but want it loud then look for high excursion sub. The extra excursion will give more SPL i.e loudness.

SPL sub meant to go loud only
SQ sub meant to be transparent, good linearity, good transient response, etc etc...

any good SQ sub will still be loud, as in competition we have to hit 135db in the spl section. dont forget, enclosure & tuning plays a big part too......

based on brands, review etc. So it is good to join US forum & see what subs ppl over there heard as good SQ sub.
Sometimes you cannot listen to OEM coz' some of them say their subs are good SQ subs. eg. Kicker etc.

yeah, u need to do some research on several online forums but remember most are personal opinion so u need to take a general consensus only, in the end it will also be your personal preference, since its your personal money youll be paying for your personal pleasure, hehe getting too personal lahhh.... :P

for me as a general biased personal opinion i see the ones with thick rubber surround made for extra long excursion to be more SPL-ish. the smaller and more softer rubber surround are more SQ-ish, but can still find some subs that defy this rule...
