Need help on overhauling

Hey guys,

My sr20de engine recently gave up on me..conrod bearings gone..
so before things got worst i sent it to the workshop to overhaul..
i just bought the car 3 months back and this happened..
according to the mech, reason to it was my black oil was too hot and it burnt the engine so the conrod bearing went first. infact i had to change 1 conrod because of burnt mark..my oil cooler was not functioning since day 1 i bought the car..its always cold and never hot. could it be the oil cooler was stuck or jammed? what's the cause of the engine oil to burn? i hardly drive the car as its a weekend car and hardly madly raped. Please give some feedbacks as im scared it might happen again. using motul 300v 15v50 oil.

the problem may be caused by oil pump failure, especially since u mentioned u have oil cooler which drastically increases the chance of oil pump failure.

typical nissan problem. best if u can replace oil pump(stock) and run without oil cooler if possible.
if u still insist on running oil cooler, u still must change oil pump (aftermarket - dunno if sr20de same as det). the rest of the overhaul process must be done as per normal practice...

ur mechanic's explanation is quite untrue. unless if ur using el cheapo rm30 engine oil...

oh yeah, do double check on oil cooler hoses and see if there really is any blockage or leakage
