need explanation on haltech

greetings 2 all.
i need some important details on haltech e6k n e6x.
can any1 tell me de differences btwin these 2 items?
i planned 2 buy an used e6k for my evo3 with 2.4 block,2J pistons.
can e6k support it?
my mech said e6k is n old stufz
plz guide me

E6K can support your type of engine but that stuff is too old, which means that you have to be old enough to use that. Your laptop too must be old enough to enable it to communicate using that old aged DOS.

Opt for E6X instead. It works the same but it's happy to communicate with the newer Windows platform. You can even use that usb to serial converter if your laptop don't have that 9 pin serial port.

Not really a problem if you were to send it over to a tuner that's doing all those Haltech stuff. They have the proper gadgets to do it for you. But if you want to play around after your installation, you may get into trouble for not being able to communicate for the reason of uncompatible hardwares/softwares that you may possesed.

Hello,
E6X is better because it has sequence ignition ( 4 channels for SR-20,Nissan )
Of cause, evo only need two channels ( twin coils system )
Off cause, it also expensive too. Price...????? ( i don't know,sorry )

E6K also can support evo without any probelm.

Both have isc ( can control stepper motor, like evo, 4 channels, for morning start and air cond )

Both have anti-lag system.

Arr.....make sure you have to buy map sensor and very expensive.
Off cause, you can get map sensor from "Potong Kerator" shop, like Toyota, 4AGZE, EP82. and very cheap, say RM 40.00
The only draw back is the max boost can go is 1.2 ~ 1.3 Bar. ( unless you only boost for 1.0 Bar )

Arr....the note book....go for old one with 9 pins serial. ( Most programmable ecu or stand alone unit is design for 9 pins ). Just get P2 or P3, with two usb and serial port will work perfectly.
Off cause, the battery is not that good, but you can buy the " step up power supply", that mean 12V become 220v, price will be RM 80.00 to RM 120.00

If u have the budget, go for the E6X ! If lesser budget, E6K will do the trick for u.
