This is wat i'm running now

P4 1.7G socket 478
P4 850MV motherboard
512 PC800 RDRAM
ATI RADEON 9200 se video card
40G Hard Disk

i'm currently looking for a motherboard which would support agp 8x coz my current board only support 4x (would like to use my video card to the fullest)

i would like to keep my processor and my ram

would like u guys to suggest some motherboard which supports my processor, my ram and agp 8x

Well... to tell u the truth, u ain't able to to upgrade to a motherboard with 8x AGP and retain your current set of RDRAM.

Well, the good news, it doesn't make ANY difference between 4x AGP and 8x AGP. It's all just a marketting hype. I'm running my Radeon 9700NP which is an 8x card as 4x on my 8x AGP motherboard.

ayakkk what the rush to change mobo....it's all giMmick only...marketing purpose...
no much difference on ur graphic if u r using for playing games...

Changing to a new motherboard will require some new memory since no one produce motherboards with RDRAM support now.

For budget, any Intel 848 chipset motherboard will do - has 8X AGP, DDR RAM, supports older P4 CPU and 800MHz FSB (for future upgrade). Forget SATA or RAID - worthless to home users or gamers.

yeah just found out that intel actually terminated their contract with rambus...

so i guess i'm just gonna keep my mother board for another good 5 yrs.. :D
