all my bro...just want to ask, how much for the port and polish and where can i find a good workshop for that!!

satria81, that would be your base ignition timing advance. best you dont mess with it and leave it at the manufacturer specs. Your ecu will base its timing off this, so for every degree you increase, you increase it across the whole rpm/load range.

yes you can gain power and fuel economy when cruising but you also risk running into detonation

Is it worthwhile?

Dear friend, first of all, for NA cars you can spend thousands and you can only get about 30-50hp extra. But if you charged up your engine you gain from 75 to double or triple or even more HP than stock.
Please consider this first. ( From my experience )
If you insist on NA. OK.
First your budget. ( How much u want to spend?)
Second, how you want to drive your car? ( Street & Strip, Drag or race )

bro,

i was thinking of this just bcos i felt the lack of power seriously,i tot by a proper tune up id gain some extra feel on the pedal.Im blur on the meaning of"risk running into detonation",pls help on this...otherwise...thanks so much for helping.

I totally agree with u...just trying to squeeze a little more of its capability for some quicker initial power,actually...i would not spend much for sure on this..thanks for ur advice .

I think that turbocharging is ok, but it always makes me feel that more is better and sometimes that isn't very cheap route to pursue. I would prefer some form of variable timing engine building parts at least you still get the kick. My 2 cents :P

actually a 1.8 mivec(1.6head)would be excellent...its just that sorting the req parts for this is not easily obtained...n when parts are up for sale it goes almost like a half-cuts's price..Otherwise,this is good i think.

Satria 81,

Here are some tips you can do to your engine.
1) Change to aluminium adjustable cam pulleys.
2) Change to light weight crankpulley.
3) Skim off about 1kg from your flywheel.
4) Change to an adjustable fuel regulator.
5) Add a piggy back CPU ( Greddy E'Manage )

If tuned properly, you will get an extra 15-25hp.
These will cost you about RM 2500.

downside

may i know what is the downside of using ligtened crankpulley?? (kindda interested to fit one) for example.. if you lighthend your flywheel ya deaccelaration will be faster... adjustable cam pulley and adjustable fuel regulator u hafta find and experienced mechanic to do the tuning...

You release more power from your engine than from losing some ya deaccelaration.
If you ever need someone to adjust the campulley and fuel regulator, I can help you out on that.

ow.. so no downside izzit? hahaha wrong spelling... sowie2... deceleration : ) .... have anyone try this light weight crank pulley b4?? care to share ya experience...1)how long you have been using it 2) how was the performance 3) is it strong enaugh.... etc etc etc...

tq...

Bro,

its a little above my budget limit, but anyway ur sug is good. Can i ask...what do u think of a 8 inch flywheel on a 4g93 when actually the norm is to be on 8.5inches?will it make much of a diff with that 0.5inch?or shud i get a 8.5 inches f/wheel n then skim it?thnx

You'll get a lighter feel in the upper RPM range.

You get a better clamping force for using a bigger clutch kit and more durable than a smaller size. ( stock clutch kit )

Dear Potssum, you'll get a lighter feel in the upper RPM range, something like kicking your girlfriend out of the car.
