Kraak when change gear...

hey veloc, mind to tell how rev matching helps here? thanks mate.

can anyone suggest a decent gear oil for my b series gb?

bro, thought you might be interested with this link on rev matching: http://www.drivingfast.net/car-control/rev-matching.htm#axzz1dkin30B9

for the gb oil, try out honda mtf-III ultra for LSD and non-LSD, like mentioned in ur other thread bro..

this prob happened to me last time. hot kraak sound everytime i shift gear. but then i try racetech smooth shift since most of my recommend it. now my problem solved already :)

Thanks mate. I would be trying this out. The thing is that I'm still not able to find one in my area. Still haven't got the time to look for it elsewhere.

mine only happens in reverse but only sometimes .
so i believe its the synchro .

anyway, how to make it smoother to shift ?
change bush and gb oil good enough ?

sometimes i can feel like the shifter is vibrating a bit when shifting .
not so smooth .

i was wrong in my previous statements. I thought that the kraak sound comes only at high rpm. its not that. it happens every time i try shifting quickly. i can shift 2nd to 3rd even at 7.5krpm without that grinding sound but have to do it slowly. do u guys get what i mean?

so, what could be the problem now? would there be anything i can do to overcome this besides telling me to shift slowly of course. lol. i'm also keen on installing a short shifter in future. will that help or worsen the situation?

yes..exactly the same with what i'm currently experiencing..sslowly shifting gears won't give me that annoying sound..but shifting quickly..zzzzzz!!

have you solved the problem?

just saw this thread.

I'm having the same problem, worst maybe.

2nd to 3rd kraak, reverse also kraak. Sometimes can't even shift. Sometimes can't dislodge from a gear especially from 2nd to 3rd.

This happens after I change my clutch set from trinity to OEM.

I don't know what happened.

Not me. I still have that problem even after changing MTF. My mech has confirmed that it's the synchro.

Last time I also had the problem when shifting from 2nd to 3rd, then change the gear oil with additive (silver colour like colgate) but only minimise the krek sound n its intermittent
After another 10k km I change the gear oil again (without the additive), now back to normal already (sometime can 'feel' its going to have the 'krek' so I just slow down the clutch release timing n it 'prevent' krek)
I suspect I drag the interval too long (40k km about 2 years from my last changed) cause the krek sound

what brand is suitable for y1 gearbox?? honda?? my gearbox at high-rpm sound like krakkk at gear 3?? which brand are ok,and which one treatment are ok, :) :) ASAP,, before anything happen :P

IMO, your synchro probably already needs to be replaced. But for temporary solution, I would suggest the MTF-III. At the moment, I don't have these crunching sound at all. Like I said, it's only temporary. I know I will have too replace my synchro soon, but I'm happy with the outcome at the moment.
